Hi Steemit! Introducing Myself - Best Selling Poker Author and Micro Stakes Poker Coach Joining the Community!
Hello Steemit!
My name is Alton Hardin, I've a best-selling poker author and popular micro stakes No Limit Hold'em cash game poker coach and I'm excited to be joining the Steemit community starting today!
About Me
I'm a 41 year old IT & Business professional (full-time gig), part-time poker coach and author, and successful online entrepreneur. I took a long hiatus from poker while in graduate school, but I after completed my MBA and MS in IT Management, happily returned to poker in 2014.
I started playing live poker during the MoneyMaker WSOP days, primarily 2-4 to 4-8 limit while as an undergraduate in college. I also dabbled a bit in 1-2 NL. After obtaining my undergraduate degree I briefly played online 9-man SnGs ($5 - $20 buy-ins) with good success, but stopped when my career kicked in.
In 2014, I began my journey relearning the game of NLHE, taking it very seriously. As I learned the game, I started a private micro stakes study group (MicroGrinder), which slowly progressed into a poker school today with well over 10,000 students today!
I currently have online courses on Udemy.com and my own poker school, MicroGrinder Poker School, as well as some other sites, and have also written several poker books - with two being Amazon best-sellers over the past couple of years.
What I Hope to Offer the Community
I'm a huge proponent of provide free and low cost poker training resources for struggling and beginning poker players. So in addition to my courses and books, I've created a plethora of free poker training resources including videos, articles, courses and even a free poker eBook - all of which I'd love to share with the community via timely posts on a regular basis!
Ask Me Anything (AMA)
I'm also hoping to be a free resource and guide to fellow poker lovers on the Steemit platform - so please feel free to ask me anything and say hello! I hope to also do a dedicated AMA post too!
I'm super excited to have found Steemit and I hope I can be a valuable addition to the community!
