Hi, I'm Annie from Melbourne, Australia :)

I'm Annie from Melbourne, Australia. I lived my first twenty eight years in Singapore before migrating in 1987 with the family. I was introduced to Steemit by my son Bryan. I am not confident with all these new technologies so there were lots of explanations and guidance for me. Hopefully I will be an expert with it.

I am in my late fifties transitioning to retirement – still working full time forty one hours a week and hoping to cut it down over the next three years as the signs of arthritis are evident on my fingers (17 years working in Early Childhood).

I have a few interests, but I would say my passions are creating teaching resources, creating play experiences and working in early childhood. The first five years of a child's life is very important as children are heavily shaped by many different events and circumstances. It is a process of rapid and significant change that occurs in the early years as young children learn and grow. It emphasizes learning to participate fully and actively in society.

Here are some photos of the experiences I have created using lots recycling and natural materials. Some of the experiences are paper mache displays that I have painted.

Then I added the animals, wooden people and cars for the children to explore and play.

I am thankful to be living in Australia as it has given me the opportunity and support that I needed as a single mum when working and studying for my diploma. I only finished Year 10 in Singapore as my dad passed away when I was only 5 years. With seven children and no social supports (no such thing as Centrelink in Singapore), it was really hard for my mum as I still had two younger brothers to put through school. So my first job was as a sales assistant in a furniture store.

I will be sharing a variety of content and teaching resources and experiences.

Looking forward to be more experience with all these new technologies at Steemit, sharing my thoughts and resources with the community.
