RE: Hello steemians! My name is Cannon

Greetings, @noegowego!

Welcome to the Steem blockchain!

I'll second the use of Steempeak and Partiko, as I typically use the former on my laptop, and the latter on my phone. I find both quite useful, though I personally found eSteem to be less so, so I no longer use it.

We have a lot in common, in that my husband and I are musicians, we're both into meditation and spiritual pursuits, and we're both into herbs, and foraging for mushrooms, though he's a lot more knowledgeable about the latter, as he grew up hunting mushrooms with his family in Poland.

I'm an Angeleno by birth, with serious love for the SF Bay Area and the whole of the California coast, though I now live in Middle Tennessee, midway between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

We have mostly-forested acreage on a river, with zero light pollution, and magnificent starwatching on clear nights.

Our plan on moving here was to start a mini organic farm and orchard, with music and art studio, but life intervenes, and thus we're still in the early phases.

In any case, nice introduction, and I hope you stick around a while. With your interests, you may want to check out the @naturalmedicine community, which includes a fabulous collection of welcoming souls from all over the world. We are big on sharing knowledge, and there is already a growing collection of useful posts and other materials.

There are a whole host of incredible communities and tribes around here, with @thealliance, @tribesteemup, and @poetsunited being a few more I'm involved with, but take the time to get your bearings first, and I have no doubt you'll find your way around just fine.

I'm resteeming your post in the hope that it will help a little to bring you together with likeminded souls.

Thank you, crescendoofpeace. I grew up in Atlanta...and bailed at 18. So I am somewhat familiar with the south, although idk Tennessee. My brother is in Pensacola, Florida now. No light pollution sounds amazing to me, now. Funny how our values change. I have tried to leave the Bay, but I always come running back. Although, the older I get, and the more I learn and experience of government and capitalism/materialism/corporate facism, the more tempted I am to head 2-3 thousand miles south, along the west coast. A river in the forest in Tennessee with real food sounds pretty good too.

Yes, we've thought of South America as well, along with a hundred other places, but so far none have been compelling enough to drag us out of here.

And the Bay area is hard to beat, with its mix of gorgeous scenery, lovely (mostly) weather, great (mostly) people, and pretty much everything under the sun available relatively nearby.

Pensacola is gorgeous as well, but if I went back to Florida, it would be to somewhere far less populated. And, frankly, anywhere in Florida is vulnerable to sea level rise.

Thanks for your response, and have a lovely weekend!
