Hey everybody. I'm brand new to Steemit and so far I've met some really amazing people. I've seen all sorts of extreme talent on this platform and while I've noticed it brings out the worst in some, it really brings out the best in others! Steemit has so much potential and I hope to call it my new home away from home!

So a little about me

I've been into crypto for about 8 years, originally starting with Bitcoin when it was actually possible to mine BTC on a laptop computer, and faucets gave out more than a few satoshi. Those were the days!

When ASICS were released, I stepped back from crypto for a while to focus on other initiatives but have kept a close eye on the community(s) and am so stoked to see how much it has all grown!

One of the #1 things I am looking forward to is the upcoming upgrade to Steemit where meta-coins will be available to buy/sell/create. I think there is so much potential in that for individuals and business owners and that this, technically already available feature, is going to upgrade Steem and really open up the Steemit platform to the masses. B2B, B2C, C2C, P2P, and all those other fancy comparisons! It's going to be great!

Till then, I am focusing my energies on trying to uplift and empower talent on the network. No borders, no restrictions, just love and fun. Singers, Comedians, Artists, Programmers, Writers, Thinkers!

I was recently invited to Steemit

I was recently invited to steemit by an old friend and have created a community on Discord where I've met some great folks. The concept of earning by sharing content, ideas, and talent that steemit brings to the world of crypto is really great, and one of the best concepts I've seen for bringing in the masses that may not be as technical as typical crypto enthusiasts!

My other interests span that same concept of diversity too, i'm that awkward shape that fits in a lot of holes but just doesn't have a hole of my own. The one the dog bit out a piece of so I fit in most slots due to reduced size and sharp edges.

I enjoy solving problems and doing puzzles

For quite a few of my interests, my initial involvement in them came from being presented with obstacles or problems that I needed to help solve. I thoroughly enjoy solving problems, working through logical steps, overcoming barriers with alternate methods or concepts, etc.

Design

Design for instance provides a ridiculous number of obstacles to convey a message or encourage action. Demographics, color theory, weight and contrast, action verbiage, there are so many loops to jump through and putting together the perfect piece that achieves the goals is nothing short of mental orgasm.

I'm not necessarily an Artist per say, but I have an eye for design. I can look at something and tell you what is wrong with it, where it needs work, and best of all, suggest specific improvements that can help it get there. I do my best, but of course I'm not in the same league, or even on the same continent as the greats. I just do my part, bit by bit, in any way I can.

Travel

I have a love/hate relationship with travel. I Hate going through airport security, worrying about visas, immigration laws, the long lines, the tiny seats, etc.

I LOVE exploring new cultures, discovering new concepts and ways of thinking, taking in the beauty of an expertly planned city, or the beauty of an untouched jungle/forest.

I'm not amazing at languages, but i've read a bit of the 4-hour-workweek and picked up a few tricks about how to become semi conversational in any language during a long-flight. It's not nearly as easy as the author seems to pretend it is, but maybe I'm just not quite as clever as he is, I tend to get by okay though. Body Language and Tone are Life Savers!

I've only been to 4 of the 7 continents so far, but have plans to visit at least the big 6. I hope that steemit may help me achieve that dream/plan of mine, and that I'll be able to document it all for everybody here along the way! I think that'd be absolutely amazing, and have seen several people on this platform doing that already. I SALUTE YOU!
