๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜ƒThe Start of my Steemit Journey. My Introduce Yourself Post๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜Ž

in #introduceyourself โ€ข 7 years ago (edited)

It's amazing how far Technology and Innovation has taken us. Back from the times of pen and paper to blogging online. The world of computers has always fascinated me. I was first introduced to a computer when I was 7 years old. I believe it was an old IBM computer. I remember playing hours of Qbert almost every day after school, pounding away at the keyboard and spilling my fruit juice all over it, boy did I get in trouble for that!

Anyway, computers and Art have always been a part of my life. It's absolutely astonishing how fast the technology has grown, and how it has changed our world. Could you imagine living without our devices and the internet today? It would be a nightmare! Well, at least for me.

My name is Kory aka KTech, I know it's cheesy โ€“ Kory, "K"Tech but hey we have to start somewhere right? This is my introduction to the great Steemit, and Dtube Community. I've been lurking the platform for a couple months now and have enjoyed all of the articles and videos the platform has to offer. I've dabbled a little with Cryptocurrencies in the past, I think it was 2010 or 2011 when I heard of Bitcoin. I mined a few coins back then nothing serious. It was something fresh and interesting to me, and being the Computer Geek I am, I had to take on the task of building a computer to mine it. I was in Europe at the time, working in the military there and played around with it on my off-time.

I was more into messing with the iPhones back then, Jail-breaking and cracked screen repair. I actually made a pretty good side-income changing out all the cracked screens people brought to me. The soldiers were dropping their phones and soaking them in water left and right, there were no Water and shock proof cases at the time, so business was good, and it made me quite popular in the community.

^^^This Crypto Mining Rig in the Pic above is running 16 x RX580 8GB GPU's .

I have a variety of other interest and stories that I'd love to share with the Steemit Community, like Forex trading and Technical Analysis. I've been trading now for a little over 8 Years and have learned quite a bit about the Brokers, tools and platforms to use. I have sort of moved away from Forex and now actively trade Cryptocurrencies. I believe in the Technology of The Blockchain, and Cryptocurrencies. It will be the catalyst that will drive our Economic Future for the better. While researching and trading Bitcoin and Altcoin, I've found some interesting tools to use for trading Cryptocurrencies in which I've seen some success so far. I plan on posting articles and videos on what I find useful as I go along. I also do some Crypto Mining that's one of my rigs in the Picture above.

I'll also share the books that I am currently reading and my thoughts on them. I'd love to join or create a book club of some sorts and get feedback on the books we have all read. I am into reading fiction and non-fiction titles especially books on influencers in finance and their success. I'm trying to keep this a short introduction, I know people like myself usual read a few sentences in the first paragraph before clicking on to the next thing. But If you are still here reading this, I'm glad I've held your attention. I hope to bring value to the Steemit and DTube Community and have lots of fun while doing it. Thank you for reading my introduction, KTech out.

Welcome to Steem Community @ktech! As a gentle reminder, please keep your master password safe. The best practise is to use your private posting key to login to Steemit when posting; and the private active key for wallet related transactions.

In the New Steemians project, we help new members of steem by education and resteeeming their articles. Get your articles resteemed too for maximum exposure. You can learn more about it here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@gaman/new-steemians-project-launch

Thank you @newsteemians for the tips and the useful article link. I will definately practice Pasword safety!

Hello ktech! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!

Wow! ๐Ÿ˜ฎThanks, @Janne, I didn't know Steem had so many awesome platforms... I really enjoy DTube but i'm definitely going to check out DSound and Steepshot!๐Ÿ‘

Hello @ktech, I don't have a collection of non-fiction writers, but I do have a pretty large collection of fiction writers I have found on steemit. Horror to romance, fantasy to sci-fi, and things inbetween. I found you on @thehoneys post for the "Pay it Forward" contest, and all 38 or 39 steemit authors I have found are listed in table form on my master banner post, if you need some light reading.

Hi, ktech! I wish you the best journey here on this platform :)

Thank you @cheneats! I'm glad to be here. I look forward to providing the Steemit Community with the best quality content I can muster.๐Ÿ˜‰

You are welcome. A wonderful goal you have! Thank you so much. By the way, you were very lucky to have a computer when you were 7 :)

Great post!! My first computer was built for me by a friend before the internet. (dating myself a bit here!). It was a 386 desktop, and I fell in LOVE!! Back then, we were still using BBS's (bulletin board systems). And being female, and young, I was sort of rare. But, that is what got me started. The 386 still works to this day, and I haven't been able to throw it away!! I don't actually use it thow. It's SO SLOW!!

Thank you @thehoneys! Ah yes, the Compaq Desktop 386S hehe... I've never owned one but I'm sure they were awesome! I've read about the Bulletin Board System, it was a very useful tool indeed. I remember seeing it still used today in Italy. I was browsing the channels and saw something similar.

Welcome to Steem, @ktech!
