Don't think of a pink elephant doing a pirouette
Greetings steemians!
I am Mints and this is my intro post to steemit. Feels a little exciting! I like that..
I tend to be a private person, so I’m not gonna share photos of myself,
like I see many others doing so! Maybe in a future post.
I am, however, going to share a little about myself, my goals with steemit
and some of my goals in life, which, I like to think of as plans.
Also, I am going to share about what you will see on my page.
I, like so many before me followed the convention. Listen to your parents, teachers,
authority figures..
Go to school, get high marks, ‘’you’re a smart kid’’, get a degree,
job, married -> kids -> retired -> RIP
That was so dull. Does that feel like living?! Hell no.
I was so unhappy and, obviously so was everyone else around me.
All this went on ‘til university. Then, I discovered self-help.
I was blown away…
Why didn’t I know this before?!
Why didn’t anyone teach me this?!
Why isn’t this taught in schools?!
Why?! Why..
TOUGH
So, I decided to be happy. Not because of something or for someone. But, ‘cause that’s the way to be.
Since.. interesting things started to happen!
Fast forward to now.
Quick question; Why did I come to steemit?!
Simple. I think writing is a very important skill to have! For everyone.
And, writing regularly is pretty much one of the best ways to improve your writing,
don’t you think?!
Other than my university essays, assignments, reports this is one of my very first writings, other than random bits of poetry that I did. So, I thank you for reading :)
REASON 2
I find steemit to be a really exciting platform. Blockchain, writing, earning money,
gaining followers.. And, I’m interested of being a part of that.
However, I’m not sure about how fair it is.
I feel that the people that found out about steemit from the beginning; joined and stayed, gained a good following have, let’s say more of an advantage,
than people who joined later.. I might be wrong about this ‘tho.
REASON 3
I know so many things and it’s getting overwhelming. (But, there are times when I feel like I know NOTHING!)
And I need ways to express it and share with the world.
I feel that people that ‘’live by society’s system’’ are quite selfish. When you spread your tips,
your knowledge, your experiences, your ideas, your message, your good will..
you never know how or when you’ll impact someone’s life. Hopefully in a way
on the good side of the spectrum!
In this super interconnected world it will happen! No doubt about.
I’d say trust me but I’ll let you decide for yourself.
But, if you don’t share; nothing’s gonna happen! nothing.
This leads me to talk about one of my biggest goals in the next 10-20 years.
In this world there is only one problem.
One reason for all our issues.
It’s not knowledge and it’s not wisdom.. we’ve had those for millennia and, still,
we kill other people for petty and most insignificant reasons..
Can you guess it?!
Okay, I’ll tell you;
IGNORANCE.
that’s it.
The solution is simple. Crazy hard to implement to 7.6 billion people, but simple.
AWARENESS!
This should start from infants and work itself up to adults.
Most people think; ‘’I finished highschool/college/university. I’m done with school.
No more learning,
no more reading books for the rest of my life.
AWESOME!’’
Hell no.
you should be learning for as long as you live!!! If you stop moving forward,
you automatically go backwards and that’s the day
you slowing start dying.
Why is this happening?!
Isn’t it obvious; the educational systems, mostly, suck.
You read about Finland having the best educational system in the world, and then
Singapore having the best educational system, and India focusing more on happiness
than math.
You get some hope and start to develop faith, but not really that much.
This world needs a quantum leap in awareness and this is what I intend to do;
change the educational system in the whole world. AMBITIOUS MUCH?! YEP.
But, that’s how I’m wired :)

I must warn you though that this platform can seem very intimidating to newbies because many people don't even read posts here.. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Also it is good to put your pictures in at least one of your post (with a handwritten note with your username) as some curation communities require proof that you are actually a real person (there are tons of bots here too), but this is an optional step.
By the way I'm currently tasked with searching steemit for active content creators as me and couple more users are building a community of authors. If you'd like to know more you can join us on discord

I did, actually, notice some bots on the platform.. which is kinda weird. Why do people create bots in the first place?! Is it for monetary benefit?!
I did exactly the same when I started out, first picture of me was around 2 months late. And bots are mostly for monetary benefit, but there are some bots like @minnowsupport which are here to help others out.
