Milestone - 7days on steemit. Some things I've gained (not followers)
Today I celebrate having been on steemit for 7 whole days, active during every single one. I see a lot of posts about people quickly gaining a boat load of followers like it's their birthday, but mine is uhh not quite as impressive. BUT as I've learned, steemit is not a resume, and is not to impress people.
In the past week I gained a total of 14 loyal followers, posted 33 times, and had a story get up to $35. This might be better than minny minnows, but definitely not a proud success. I would like to say that I did however gain a lot of knowledge and respect towards this community after scoping out different corners of this site and reading up on little nitty gritty things of steemit. I think doing this is super important to set yourself up strong as a week little noobie. I've also gained an interest in the cryptocurrency world which is important to learn about just as a person interested in the future as we all slowly develop into part time androids.
I still have A LOT of questions and areas of steemit that I want to research an read up on. But to conclude this milestone I would like to mention a few important things I have learned during my time here so far that I think might be important for fellow minnows to look into.
Audience
It is important to know what people like to hear and read. I bet people are thinking nahhh dude just be yourself. But as it turns out, that happens to be exactly what I find people love. The real unique you. Expression that they can't simply find in their everyday lives. And I think this is an amazing thing to consider as we think about how the social internet world develops.
Investing
I have not yet invested in any currencies or in my account but it is definitely the next big step. There is a risk in losing money, but there is also a risk in missing out on a huge opportunity that will change drastically when steemit blows up. I don't want to be like everyone that passed up the chance to invest in bitcoin.
Steemgigs
I first ran into one when I saw a post about someone putting a little gig out there to translate English posts into Spanish to reach more members. I thought, wohoah how clever. Turns out there is a whole steemgig phenomenon going on where people find ways to create their own little business in the steemit world. I recommend checking it out. I want to explore it a lot more myself. #steamgigs
emember or to read about later. I find myself feeling like I stumbled upon some great information, but now I don't know what it was or how I would find it again. Syntax and little things that you often need to reference and are easily forgotten are good to have your own personal list.
I am new, so please comment with any good references, comments and suggestions
