Hi, we are country music band, Sheep in Wolves Clothing bringing our unique country sound to the Steemit/Dtube community

Hi everyone, we decided that our 3rd post on Steemit should be an introduction post.
We are country music band Sheep in Wolves Clothing and we are on a mission to bring country music to Edinburgh (Scotland) where we are based. While country music’s popularity is growing in Scotland mainly because of the tv show Nashville it is extremely rare to find a country band performing in the Edinburgh music scene.

We have been busy getting our name out there performing gigs, open mike sessions,
busking and have written and released our first single “Standing Rock”. We also believe in supporting charities so half of all the revenue from this single will be donated to the Standing Rock Movement.

One of the biggest problems we have encountered is how to get our music out there so that people can hear us. While we love performing, writing lyrics and making music we are clueless when it comes to social media. So, if anybody could give us some help with this in the comments section it would be greatly appreciated.

We did have the good fortune to meet Ian Par who interviewed us for his radio station “Ian's Country Music Show” based in Edinburgh. Ian is a great guy who loves to help promote country music, especially local talent. Check out his show for some great country sounds ….

When meeting people one of the questions we are asked is how and why we came up with the band name. Let me start by explaining how hard it is to find a name that already hasn’t been taken, this is a frustrating time-consuming process. Feeling frustrated to the point that nearly any name would do, our media guy Dave used the phrase wolf in sheep’s clothing in conversation (totally unrelated to the search for the band name) but got it back to front. Teresa jumped on this as the perfect band name. As she explains “Our name is simple, it takes a wolf to make it in this industry and I’m not a wolf. I am merely a sheep pretending to be a wolf, so we are Sheep in Wolves Clothing”

While we like to write our own music we also perform covers of our favorite songs. We are influenced by the likes of Miranda Lambert, Cam, Ashley Monroe and the TV show Nashville but we do have our own unique sound and style. We followed up our debut single by releasing 2 cover songs which you can check out on all major platforms.

At the moment we are working on getting our next single ready to hit the recording studio. The singles lyrics was written by Teresa for her husband Dave (our media guy) and his battle with M.E/CFS which has basically left him housebound. All going well this track will be donated to ‘Music 4 ME’ for their CD soon to be released. Its going to be a battle against time to get it produced in time for the cd release but we are hopeful that we will make it.

As a band we just want to make music people enjoy, be heard and maybe make a small difference in peoples lives either from supporting charities or hopefully through our music.

We are loving Steemit/Dtube so far and are looking forward to checking out the interesting community content.
