Need of Sustainable innovation in Textile Industry

India is the 2nd largest producer of fiber in the world (majorly cotton) but on another end, cotton used by fashion industry which is a massive consumer and polluter of fresh water and guess what - cotton being the major culprit of this pollution.
Toxic chemicals use in dyeing and the washing is polluting the ecosystem and it is the major source of pollution, especially in developing countries like India.

But that is not all - India is also coming up with innovative ideas of dyeing (Green Innovation) including the innovation in technologies to save energy, pollution-control, waste management, designing green product , or environmental management.

People are using natural dyeing using flower and ayurvastra ( ayurveda + cloth ) concepts, etc are coming up to overcome the pollution problem in dyeing in textile industry especially.
