Introducing Cori and Flo, travel bloggers from Austria, who want to get in touch with open-minded global citizens

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians!

We are Cori and Flo from @travelpins, two curious travel bloggers born and raised in Austria. We have already been blogging about outdoor-adventures, some of our roadtrips and combining active travels with relaxation and delightful moments for more than 4 years (in German only).

Connecting with global citizens & like-minded travellers

Instead of travelling to every country, we want to get in touch with as many open-minded global citizens as possible, who are still proud of their origin, share their passion and build meaningful relationships with them. Therefore we spent some time abroad, Cori as an exchange student and au-pair in Chile, South America, as well as travelling together as a couple around the world for 6 months. Recently we returned from one month on Madagascar, spending time with local families and getting to know (and understand) a totally different culture, by even learning Malagasy language to some extent. We are definitely going to share those experiences on our Steemit blog.

But you know what? It's not only about (other) locations, if you want to meet new folks, who get some stories and opinions to tell! We had really great experiences by hosting other people, strangers who became friends, and even two kids, who regard us as their guest family. They turned into self-confident young adults during their exchange program in Austria.

How we want to add value to Steemit

We just started to realize what's possible to achieve with blockchain technology and are impressed already, although we're pretty sure we still don't have the full picture. However, we hope we can contribute to the sustainable growth of the Steemit community, by seeing it as a platform to respectfully connect with others and making more people from our surroundings aware of the potential. Content-side we want to share our (travel) stories and recommendations also in English, as they have been only available to our German-speaking friends and followers. Until now! :)

Welcome to Steemit! :)

Hello, and welcome to Steemit.

From reading about your experiences and your goals, I believe you have plenty of worthwhile material and perspective to bring to this great new platform. (You could even post Malagasy language-learning material... altho that might not be very popular or lucrative.)

Below are a few points of advice re posting on Steemit.

  1. Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
  2. Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
  3. Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.

Hope this helps for now. Good luck, and Full Steem Ahead!

Thank you for your advice, @majes.tytyty! Our (German) blog posts usually contain 1,000-1,500 words and 20-30 pictures, which is regarded sometimes as too long by some of our regular readers. Therefore we thought it might be a better idea to keep our intro post a bit shorter. But it's great to hear that longer posts with lots of photos perform well / even better :)

And YES, we 're definitely going to write something how it works to learn Malagasy language, even if you've never been to Madagascar before!

Best,
Cori & Flo

Check out one of the most successful travel blogs on Steemit, by @sweetsssj. Her posts are not fairly long, but content-rich and content-nutritious.

And from my discussions with other Steemians over the past few months, it's clear that short, simple posts are not looked upon too favorably. And rightly so.

I believe the powers-that-be at Steemit are looking to fill the site with as much quality content as possible. That way, Steemit willl not only set itself apart from the likes of Facebook and twitter, but actually produce a site of true value.

Let's all work together towards that ideal.

Welcome to Steem Community @travelpins! As a gentle reminder, please keep your master password safe. The best practise is to use your private posting key to login to Steemit when posting; and the private active key for wallet related transactions.

In the New Steemians project, we help new members of steem by education and resteeeming their articles. Get your articles resteemed too for maximum exposure. You can learn more about it here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@gaman/new-steemians-project-launch

Hey guys and welcome to Steemit! I'm rather new here myself, but I have been invloved in the crypto-currency world for over 6 years.

It is funny that I cam across your posting because I just posted something similar about how I love and dream of traveling and experiencing the world. I'll be taking my first real, "go where the wind takes me" adventure this summer.

Great to hear that, @spreadthetruth! We will check your post immediately :)
