My introduction: International Man, crypto, and philosophy enthusiast.

Hello, my family nickname is “Chepe” (scroll below for the pronunciation).

I joined Steemit in August 2017, at a time when Steemit had less than 170K users, so I’m excited to be here.

I'm an entertainment promoter of family shows, motorsports, and touring exhibitions; a libertarian politically; a big fan of Ayn Rand (though not an Objectivist); and a world traveler. This is my first post.

I work from home so all I need is my laptop, smart phone, and Wi-Fi, and I work from where ever I choose to travel.

My life has been rather unconventional, to say the least …

Born in Bolivia, my family moved to the USA when I was but 3 months of age. By the time I was 12 years old, we had moved 12 times, so I was always the “new kid”.

Perhaps this set a pattern of traveling which I enjoy to this day.

Upon graduating from university with a degree in microbiology, I promptly joined the circus.

I’m not kidding.

Somewhere between my graduation ceremony and job search in genetic engineering, I took a detour and never went back.

As a Marketing Director for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, I had the good fortune to travel to 30 different cities in the USA as an “advance man” or promoter for “The Greatest Show On Earth” and Disney On Ice, which they also owned.

As luck would have it, I was the only person in the company that spoke Spanish when the owners embarked on their international endeavors with Disney On Ice, and wanted somebody to help promote Spain as their International Marketing Director in Europe.

Not bad for a 27 year old only 2 years with the company!

I lived in London, and helped open up 10 countries in Europe before being transferred to Latin America where I was eventually promoted to VP of Marketing while opening Mexico and Argentina and virtually every country in between.

What started out as a temporary 1-year detour, allowing me to travel and have fun while getting paid, turned into a career in the entertainment industry with a life of international travel.

Along the way, I became a single dad of my awesome daughter, was awarded full custody when she was 9 and from then on raised her as a single dad. Nothing I have done prior or since has given more meaning and depth to my life. She’s now a college graduate and has embarked on her own journey.

Though I may have forgotten most of my science, I am an avid reader of history, philosophy, investments, finance, and economics. I hope to “blog” about these topics here on Steemit, along with stories about my travel adventures and the entertainment industry.

I'm fluent in English and Spanish and purchased the Rosetta Stone to help me learn Russian, Arabic, and Portuguese. I’d also like to learn Chinese sometime in the future. With these languages, I figure I'll be able to speak to the majority of the people the world over.

As a “Crypto Knight”, I’d also like to write about my new passion: cryptocurrencies and this new “dominant-paradigm-shift” we are experiencing called the Blockchain.

It’s an exciting time and I am thrilled to be an early adopter.

One last thing: I gather that almost everyone on Steemit are younger than I. So as a baby boomer, I get a jolt of energy watching how so many millennials and gen Xers choose to live a free unconventional lifestyle. Perhaps I was born a tad too early. :)
