Celebrating My Journey to the Top: Winning Steem Retro Cup Two Times in a Row
Two consecutive victories in the Steem Retro Cup are a fact I should be proud of. This is a big accomplishment to me as a Nigerian man in the Steem blockchain. It is not merely a game or scores, but consistency, persistence and believing in oneself. I was the winner last week and this time again, I was on the top. This personal treatise is my effort to express my gratitude towards the process, the struggle, the schooling, and the individuals who got me there.
Steem Pong has been my primary entry in this competition. Steem Pong is an easy game, yet one needs to be sharp and fast and have a lot of patience. I had a total Steem Pong score of 10256, playing 6 games, in this week to earn me an enormous 170047 contest points with the coefficient and multiplier factored in. This score put me well ahead of the leader board. This time I saw my name at the first position once again and it brought me a profound feeling of satisfaction.
Comparing my performance to that of other strong players I realized the level of the competition. The second-place competitor, @frafiomatale had a score of 5,389 points on the Steem Pong on 3 games, which won her 44,675 contest points. The third-place winner is 902 points in 3 games, corresponding to 38,234 contest points, and the score of 4,612. These are exceptionally high scores and they demonstrate that I was playing with good and focused players.
Other participants also had a good performance. @baizid123 scored 3,829 points in 3 games, an equivalent of 31,743 contest points. @mad-runner played 2 games in Pentris and earned 2,787 points, which gave him 4,812 contest points. The sight of these scores made me admire everyone who took part in it, as each of the points was earned.
Persistence and consistency was what assisted me in being better than the rest. I did not play once and quit. I also played several times, and made lessons out of all my errors and became more focused.
I remained calm despite the fact that at one point the ball was moving too fast and at some point I felt like I was losing concentration. I continued to remind myself that I could improve with every constant effort. It was not simple to play six games but the consistency multiplied my results and propelled me way up in the league.
The fact that I won two weeks in succession taught me some of the most powerful things in life. A significant thing it has taught me is that consistency is better than talent in case talent is not consistent. A large number of individuals are capable of playing one time and scoring well, however, it takes discipline to remain on top. Patience is another lesson that I learned. Steem Pong is a punishment against impatience. If you rush or panic, you lose. This brought back memories of life when one has to make fast decisions, mistakes are easily made.
I also came to know the importance of focus. When you are playing Steem Pong, your game can be terminated by any distraction. This lesson is relevant to the real life as well. When you forget about your aims, then you cannot achieve. Resilience was another lesson that I learned during the game. I never gave up even in cases where my mistakes were made. I just began afresh, more powerful and more intelligent.
I have been a two-time consecutive winner that has boosted my confidence. It made me realize that as a Nigerian guy, I can be able to compete and emerge victoriously in a global arena with the right determination. None of it is luck, this victory is a fruit of hard work, education, and diligence. It encourages me to strive even more.
In the future, I am well resolved to emerge the champion once again in the next Steem Retro Cup week. I understand that it will be a stronger rivalry and I admire each player. But I believe in growth. I will be focused, play more games and work on my strategy. I am not only aiming at winning once more, but becoming better than I used to be yesterday.

To sum up, my two consecutive wins in Steem Retro Cup have been one of my most impressive achievements in Steem. It is a symbol of diligence, education and practice.
