I Am Loving The Pentris Game

in Italy3 days ago

Games always helped me to relax, have fun and even work my brain. There is one game that has struck me in some of the various games that I have encountered online. It is called Pentris. There was little information I had known about the game initially. All I saw was falling blocks on the screen and I believed that it was like Tetris, a famous game that I play before.

However, after a few minutes of playing, I started to know the rules, the moves and the way to score points. The more I played, the more I became interested in it and now I can mark that Pentris is one type of game I am slowly learning and having fun with it.

I have just played one game of Pentris, and I made 143 points. This was my best score to date and though it may seem insignificant to a person who is already very good at the game, to me it was a big one. The numbers in the screen brought me happiness since it indicated that I am doing better. I began feeling a bit lost and not knowing what to do but now I can play longer and score better.

Pentris is a block game. Various shapes consisting of small squares drop off on the screen at the top. It is my work as a player to have control over where those shapes will land by moving them left, right, rotating them, or dropping them at a faster speed. This aims at ensuring the blocks are fitted to fill in the vacant spaces. Each time I have crossed a horizontal line of blocks to the end, the line will be gone and I will earn points.

The challenge is what is interesting about Pentris. The forms do not only appear in simple lines or square forms but also in strange shapes that need me to think fast. In some cases a shape arrives and I know at once where it will be used, but in other cases I become disoriented and do things wrongly. The game would come to an end when the blocks have reached the top of the screen with no empty space. It is then that I get my final score.

Initially, speed is low and I am able to take my time as I play the game but as the game progresses the blocks begin to fall at a faster rate. That is when the actual test is taking place. To prevent the occurrence of errors, my eyes, brain and hands have to work in concurrence. When I panic the board gets filled too fast and the game is lost.

At the beginning, when I clicked on Pentris, I believed that this was a mere game to play. I was not aware of having to think so much. The initial few times I played I continued to lose after a few moves due to lacking knowledge on how to turn the shapes in the right direction. I would place them in the wrong places, have too many vacancies and the board would be filled soon.

But I did not give up. Each time I lost, I tried again. Gradually I came to see how to place every shape in the most effective manner. I found out that the trick is to plan. I cannot simply put a shape anywhere, I have to think over where the next one will fit. I also got to understand that the bottom of the board should be tidy with no gaps left at all since once the blocks are stacked up there is no option of rectifying them.

The other thing that I observed was the fact that patience was crucial. At other times I hurry to make a block too fast, only to regret it afterwards. Over time, I am getting to know how to remain calm even as the blocks pass by with increased velocity.

I was very happy the day I got 143 points. Such a number can be unimpressive to another person, yet in my case it was an indicator of improvement. I would tend to score below 100 before that and when the game ended I was always frustrated because it was too short. This time, though, I was able to remain longer, clear more lines and survive until nearly the end of the screen. It was when I saw the score written in bold letters in white letters when the game finally ended that I smiled.

I was confident in that high score. It demonstrated me that I do not waste my time but learn the game. I understand that the higher score of 200 can be doubled with practice because one day I will even get to 500 or even higher.

Pentris is not only a fun game, but it also imparts lessons which can be applied in actual life. The initial one is to plan ahead. In life, I can not simply make decisions without considering the future and the same applies to me. When I put a block down haphazardly, that can haunt me later in the game. Similarly, improper choices in life may lead to trouble in future.

The second lesson is patience and attention. There are moments when things are happening at a fast rate and it is hard to rush too much, because it causes mistakes. I am also training to remain focused and be calm regardless of the pressure.

The third is not to give up. I was terrible at the game when I got started playing. Nevertheless, through perseverance I got better. This expresses that practice is progressing.

I like Pentris since it is not a complicated game, yet it also proves to be difficult. It keeps my mind active, makes me think and at the same time gives me joy. It is also a game that I can play any where on my phone without using too much data or space. In my case it is not merely a way of spending the time but also a way of fine-tuning my mind.

The other reason why I like it is due to the little wins such as my 143 score. Such small victories make me want to continue. It is almost the pursuits of personal goals in real life. When you are on one stage, you desire to ascend a notch higher.
