📣 ✨ UNFORGETTABLE TRIP ✨ 📣 WEEK / SETTIMANA #122/ Leipzig Center

L'anno scorso abbiamo fatto una bellissima gita in giro per Lipsia con mia moglie e sua sorella, che era venuta a trovarci dall’Australia.

Prima tappa: il Grassi Museum! Un bel museo con un ingresso in arenaria rossa che sembra uscito da un film storico, con le lettere dorate in bella vista che gridano: "Vieni a scoprire cose interessanti!" Noi, ovviamente, non ci siamo fatti pregare. Il museo è famoso per le sue collezioni di arte applicata, strumenti musicali e oggetti etnografici, quindi una visita qui è sempre una buona idea. E poi, girare Lipsia in bicicletta è un’esperienza che merita: poco traffico, le nostre bici e tanta voglia di esplorare.

Dopo il museo, ci siamo diretti verso una bella area verde nel cuore della città. Nella foto si vede lo skyline di Lipsia con la City-Hochhaus, che spunta in mezzo agli edifici come se volesse dire "Ehi, guardate quanto sono alto!", e il Paulinum, che con il suo design moderno e le guglie sembra una chiesa gotica di nuova generazione. Il cielo era un po’ nuvoloso, ma non ci ha fermati: risate, foto di gruppo e una bella passeggiata, perché quando si sta bene, il meteo passa in secondo piano!

Dopo il parco, abbiamo proseguito la nostra esplorazione verso il centro storico e siamo arrivati alla Nikolaikirche. Questa chiesa, con il suo mix di architettura gotica e barocca, è un simbolo importante per Lipsia, famosa per il ruolo che ha avuto nelle proteste pacifiche che hanno portato alla caduta del Muro di Berlino. Camminare sulle sue strade acciottolate, con i palazzi storici tutto intorno, ci ha fatto sentire immersi in un’altra epoca.

Dopo la chiesa, abbiamo continuato a passeggiare nel centro storico, tra vicoli pittoreschi e piazze animate, fermandoci ogni tanto a osservare qualche dettaglio nascosto della città. Con il sottofondo della musica di artisti di strada e il profumo di caffè nell’aria, Lipsia ci ha accolto con tutto il suo fascino.

Dopo una giornata così piena, tra musei, pedalate, chiese e passeggiate nel cuore di Lipsia, ci siamo concessi una pausa rilassante in un caffè accogliente. Tra una tazza di cioccolata calda e qualche risata, abbiamo ripensato a tutti i momenti vissuti insieme. Vedere mia moglie e sua sorella così felici è stato il vero punto forte della giornata. Lipsia ci ha regalato storia, avventura e, soprattutto, tempo prezioso insieme. Anche il cielo grigio non ha potuto rovinare il nostro entusiasmo! Alla fine, ciò che conta di più non è dove vai, ma con chi condividi il viaggio.

Letztes Jahr haben wir einen wunderschönen Ausflug durch Leipzig gemacht, zusammen mit meiner Frau und ihrer Schwester, die uns aus Australien besucht hat. Erster Halt: das Grassi-Museum! Ein beeindruckendes Gebäude aus rotem Sandstein, das aussieht, als wäre es direkt aus einem historischen Film entsprungen, mit goldenen Buchstaben, die rufen: „Komm rein und entdecke spannende Dinge!“ Natürlich konnten wir nicht widerstehen. Das Museum ist bekannt für seine Sammlungen in angewandter Kunst, Musikinstrumenten und ethnografischen Objekten – ein Besuch lohnt sich immer! Außerdem ist Leipzig mit dem Fahrrad einfach perfekt: kein Verkehr, nur wir, unsere Räder und jede Menge Entdeckungslust.

Nach dem Museum ging es weiter zu einer schönen grünen Fläche im Herzen der Stadt. Auf dem Foto sieht man die Skyline von Leipzig mit dem City-Hochhaus, das stolz zwischen den anderen Gebäuden emporragt, und das Paulinum, das mit seinen modernen gotischen Spitzen wie eine Kirche aus der Zukunft wirkt. Der Himmel war zwar bewölkt, aber das konnte uns nicht aufhalten: Gruppenfotos, viel Gelächter und ein gemütlicher Spaziergang – wenn die Gesellschaft stimmt, spielt das Wetter keine Rolle!

Unsere Erkundung führte uns weiter in die Altstadt, wo wir die Nikolaikirche besuchten. Diese beeindruckende Kirche, eine Mischung aus gotischer und barocker Architektur, ist ein wichtiges Symbol für Leipzig. Sie spielte eine entscheidende Rolle bei den friedlichen Protesten, die zum Fall der Berliner Mauer führten. Auf dem Kopfsteinpflaster zu laufen, umgeben von historischen Gebäuden, fühlte sich an wie eine Reise in die Vergangenheit.

Nach der Kirche spazierten wir weiter durch die Altstadt, vorbei an malerischen Gassen und lebhaften Plätzen, immer wieder innehaltend, um kleine Details zu entdecken. Mit Straßenmusik im Hintergrund und dem Duft von frischem Kaffee in der Luft zeigte Leipzig sich von seiner besten Seite.

Nach einem so ereignisreichen Tag gönnten wir uns eine wohlverdiente Pause in einem gemütlichen Café. Bei einer heißen Schokolade und vielen Lachern ließen wir die Erlebnisse des Tages Revue passieren. Meine Frau und ihre Schwester so glücklich zu sehen, war das wahre Highlight der Reise. Leipzig hat uns Geschichte, Abenteuer und vor allem wertvolle gemeinsame Zeit geschenkt. Selbst der graue Himmel konnte unsere gute Laune nicht trüben! Am Ende zählt nicht, wohin man reist, sondern mit wem man die Reise teilt.

Last year, we had a wonderful trip around Leipzig with my wife and her sister, who came to visit us from Australia. First stop: the Grassi Museum! A stunning red sandstone building that looks like it came straight out of a historical movie, with golden letters calling out: "Come in and discover fascinating things!" Of course, we couldn’t resist. The museum is famous for its collections of applied arts, musical instruments, and ethnographic objects—definitely worth a visit! And cycling around Leipzig? Absolutely perfect! No traffic, just us, our bikes, and an eagerness to explore.

After the museum, we headed to a beautiful green area in the heart of the city. In the photo, you can see Leipzig’s skyline with the City-Hochhaus towering proudly among the buildings and the Paulinum, whose modern Gothic spires make it look like a futuristic church. The sky was cloudy, but that didn’t stop us—group photos, lots of laughter, and a relaxing walk. When you're in good company, the weather doesn’t matter!

Our exploration continued into the historic city center, where we visited the Nikolaikirche. This impressive church, a blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture, is an important symbol of Leipzig. It played a crucial role in the peaceful protests that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Walking on the cobblestone streets, surrounded by historic buildings, felt like stepping back in time.

After the church, we strolled further through the old town, wandering through charming alleys and lively squares, stopping here and there to take in small hidden details. With street musicians playing in the background and the scent of fresh coffee in the air, Leipzig welcomed us with all its charm.

After such an eventful day, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved break in a cozy café. Over a hot chocolate and lots of laughter, we reflected on all the moments we had shared. Seeing my wife and her sister so happy was the true highlight of the trip. Leipzig gave us history, adventure, and, most importantly, precious time together. Not even the gray sky could dampen our spirits! In the end, it’s not about where you go, but who you share the journey with.
