🌿 EcoTracker Update — Live Map During Tracking, GPX Extension Fix, and Daily Random Reward

EcoTracker

Two code changes in this build, plus something new outside the app entirely: a daily reward system for active users.

🗺️ Live Map During Tracking

You can now view your route in real time while an activity is in progress, without stopping it.

A 🗺️ See Live Map button has been added to the live tracker stats grid. Tapping it opens a full-screen Leaflet map showing the GPS track recorded so far, with the same red polyline, start marker, and end marker used everywhere else in the app. A close button in the top right corner (red ✕) dismisses the map and returns to the tracker screen without interrupting tracking in any way.

The map is rendered in a WebView overlay that sits above the tracker UI, so the tracking loop, timer, and GPS subscription continue running in the background while the map is open.

🔧 GPX Extension Check for Bike Import

The .gpx extension validation that was already present in the Walk import button has now been applied to the Bike import button as well. Previously the bike import accepted any file from the picker without checking the extension. Now both import buttons reject non-.gpx files immediately with a clear message.

🎁 Daily Random Reward for Active Users

Once a day , EcoTracker publishes a daily summary post on all three chains — Steem, Hive, and Blurt — with aggregated statistics from the previous day's activities and the all time activities.

50% of the rewards from that daily post go to a randomly selected user who published at least one activity the day before on the targeted chain.

How it works:

  • Every day the server collects all users who published an activity the previous day on Steem, Hive or Blurt
  • One user is chosen at random from the specific chain pool
  • The daily summary post is published with that user set as a 50% beneficiary
  • The remaining 50% goes to the EcoTracker account to fund ongoing development and account creation

What this means in practice:

  • The more days you publish, the more chances you have of being selected
  • Publishing on multiple chains in the same day counts as one entry for each chain
  • There is no minimum distance or duration requirement — any published activity qualifies
  • The reward amount depends on the votes the daily post receives, so supporting the daily post with your vote increases the prize pool for everyone

The daily posts will be published from the ecotracker account and will be visible on Steemit, Hive Blog, and Blurt Blog. The selected user's account will be visible in the post beneficiaries, which are publicly verifiable on-chain.

This is the first step of a rewards system that will expand over time. More details in future updates.
