An image that has now become a habit in my life is my work tools, which I've scattered across almost every stairwell in the buildings I clean. They're like little stations, usually consisting of a bucket for rags or a mop, an outdoor broom and an indoor broom, a dustpan, and a retractable leaf collection bin. That's all. In some parts of my city, I have two stairwells close together, as was the case this morning, when I went to the last two stairwells I planned to clean for my workday...

I park my scooter, go get the stair-cleaning materials in one of the two buildings in question, walk to the other building to begin my work, and arrive there, after walking at least a hundred meters, when I'm about to put the bucket and the rest of the equipment down on the landing of the stairwell in question, a fellow resident arrives...

He'd already had some objections in the past about the cleaning issue, because there's some major renovation work going on in the building. I'd agreed with the building manager that I should resume regular cleaning in the new year, and that's what I intended to do. But he started to argue that my work was pointless, that they'd be doing new work this afternoon, with new dust, and so on. I tried to tell him that I'd remove the existing dust and dirt anyway, but when I realized he was convinced of his version, I decided to go along with it, agreeing with him, gathered my things again, and left. This is the second time he's played this prank on me. I want to have a proper conversation with the other condominium owner next week so they can finally come to an agreement and understand their true intentions...

Un'immagine che ormai è diventata una consuetudine nella mia vita, sono i miei attrezzi da lavoro, che ho sparso in quasi tutte le scale delle palazzine che pulisco, sono come delle piccole stazioni, composte solitamente da un secchio per gli stracci o il mocio, una scopa da esterno e una interno, una paletta e un bidone da raccolta fogliame estensibile, tutto qui, in qualche zona della mia città ho due scale vicine, come nel caso di questa mattina, quando mi sono recato alle ultime due scale che avevo in programma di pulire per la mia giornata odierna di lavoro...

Parcheggio il mio scooter, vado a prendere il materiale per la pulizia delle scale in una delle due palazzine in questione, mi reco a piedi nell'altra palazzina, per iniziare il mio lavoro, giungo sul posto, dopo aver fatto almeno un centinaio di metri a piedi, quando sto per appoggiare il secchio e il resto a terra, nel pianerottolo d'ingresso della scala in questione, ecco che arriva un condomino...

Già in passato aveva avuto da ridire per il discorso delle pulizie, perché ci sono degli importanti lavori di ristrutturazione dello stabile, ero d'accordo con il responsabile di quel condominio, che avrei dovuto in ogni caso riprendere la regolarità delle pulizie nel nuovo anno, e così avevo intenzione di fare, ma ha iniziato a tirare fuori che la mia opera era inutile, che tanto nel pomeriggio avrebbero fatto nuovi lavori con nuova polvere, e via discorrendo, ho tentato di dirgli che in ogni caso la polvere e la sporcizia esistente l'avrei rimossa ugualmente, ma come ho capito che lui era convinto della sua versione, ho deciso di assecondarlo, dandogli ragione, ho raccolto nuovamente le mie cose e me ne sono andato, è la 2° volta che mi fa questo scherzetto, nella settimana entrante voglio parlare per bene con l'altro condomino, in modo tale che si mettano finalmente d'accordo e che capisca che intenzione hanno realmente...
