Ciao a tutti amici e amiche di Italy e di Steemit.

Le banche europee vogliono creare stablecoin in euro.

E qui la situazione inizia a diventare davvero interessante.

Per anni il mondo bancario ha guardato Bitcoin e crypto con sospetto, parlando soprattutto di rischi, regolamentazione e volatilità.

Oggi invece qualcosa sembra cambiare.

Diverse grandi banche europee starebbero lavorando alla creazione di stablecoin in euro, cioè token digitali ancorati alla valuta europea ma utilizzabili su blockchain. (Source)

Tutto molto interessante... ma come la mettiamo con l’euro digitale della BCE?

Perché sulla carta sembrano due progetti molto simili:

• entrambi digitali,
• entrambi legati all’euro,
• entrambi pensati per un futuro sempre più “on-chain”.

L’euro digitale sarebbe moneta pubblica controllata direttamente dalla banca centrale.

Le stablecoin invece sarebbero strumenti privati emessi dalle banche, probabilmente pensati per pagamenti veloci, trasferimenti internazionali, finanza tokenizzata e servizi blockchain regolamentati.

Ma una volta per le banche europee blockchain e crypto non erano il male assoluto perché avrebbero distrutto il sistema finanziario tradizionale?

Evidentemente qualcosa sta cambiando anche nella visione del settore bancario tradizionale.
E magari le banche tradizionali nostrane riusciranno a recuperare il gap col resto del mondo per quanto riguarda il settore crypto.

Hanno capito che per sopravvivere devono assorbire la tecnologia blockchain dentro le proprie strutture. Perché il rischio oggi non è più la blockchain.
Il rischio è restare indietro!

In tutto questo caos però non perdiamo di vista il punto principale: che l’unico asset realmente indipendente dal sistema finanziario tradizionale, è e sarà sempre Bitcoin.

Al massimo gli istituzionali possono solo cercare di accumularne il più possibile per garantirsi la loro fetta di riserva di valore!

And this is where things start getting really interesting.

For years, the banking world looked at Bitcoin and crypto with suspicion, mostly talking about risks, regulation, and volatility.

Now, however, something seems to be changing.

Several major European banks are reportedly working on euro stablecoins, meaning digital tokens pegged to the European currency but usable on blockchain networks. (Source)

Very interesting... but what about the ECB’s digital euro?

Because on paper they seem like two very similar projects:

• both digital,
• both tied to the euro,
• both designed for an increasingly “on-chain” future.

The digital euro would be public money controlled directly by the central bank.

Stablecoins, on the other hand, would be private instruments issued by banks, probably designed for fast payments, international transfers, tokenized finance, and regulated blockchain services.

But weren’t blockchain and crypto once considered the absolute evil by European banks because they were supposedly going to destroy the traditional financial system?

Clearly, something is changing in the mindset of the traditional banking sector as well.

And maybe European banks will finally manage to close the gap with the rest of the world when it comes to the crypto industry.

They’ve understood that, in order to survive, they need to absorb blockchain technology into their own structures.

Because today the real risk is no longer blockchain itself.

The real risk is being left behind!

Still, amid all this chaos, let’s not lose sight of the main point: the only truly independent asset from the traditional financial system is, and will always be, Bitcoin.

At most, institutions can only try to accumulate as much of it as possible to secure their own share of this store of value.
