Finalmente una buona notizia da WhatsApp!
Ogni tanto succede anche questo: una big tech fa una cosa sensata.
WhatsApp ha introdotto una nuova modalità di sicurezza chiamata Strict Account. (Rif.)
In pratica è una specie di “porta blindata” per l’account: meno comodità, ma da molta più protezione.
Niente allegati da numeri sconosciuti, chiamate mute da contatti che non conosci, link senza anteprime sospette, gruppi più controllati e verifica in due passaggi obbligatoria.
Tutte cose che, secondo me , sarebbero state utili già da tempo. Ma come si dice, meglio tardi che mai.
Comunque, non cambia il modo in cui chattiamo ogni giorno. Semplicemente aiuta a proteggerci da phishing, scam e spyware che girano ovunque, e non è poco!
A me sembra un passo nella direzione giusta.
Chiaramente, non è obbligatorio attivare questa funzione, però è a disposizione degli utenti che vogliono proteggersi dagli attacchi esterni.
Io penso che potrebbe valere la pena attivarla, anche per non stare sempre in allerta.
La funzioneStrict Account non è ancora visibile a tutti.
WhatsApp la sta rilasciando in modo graduale, quindi se non la vediamo subito nelle impostazioni è normale. Secondo Metà, arriverà nelle prossime settimane con gli aggiornamenti dell’app.
Dai, per una funzione utile, possiamo anche aspettare un qualche giorno in più.😉

Finally, some good news from WhatsApp!
Every now and then, it happens: a big tech company does something sensible.
WhatsApp has introduced a new security mode called Strict Account. (Ref.)
Basically, it’s like a “reinforced door” for your account:
a bit less convenience, but a lot more protection.
No attachments from unknown numbers, muted calls from people you don’t know, no suspicious link previews, more control over groups, and mandatory two-step verification.
All things that, in my opinion, would have been useful a long time ago. But as they say, better late than never.
It doesn’t really change the way we chat every day. It simply helps protect us from phishing, scams, and spyware that are everywhere - and that’s no small thing.
To me, this feels like a step in the right direction.
Of course, activating this feature isn’t mandatory,
but it’s there for users who want extra protection against external attacks.
I think it could be worth turning it on, if only to stop being constantly on alert.
The Strict Account feature isn’t visible to everyone yet.
WhatsApp is rolling it out gradually, so if you don’t see it in your settings right away, that’s normal. According to Meta, it should arrive in the coming weeks with app updates.
Come on - for a useful feature like this, we can wait a few extra days. 😉
