La Giornata Internazionale della solidarietà per il popolo palestinese fu istituita dall'Onu già nel 1977 e serve a ricordare come non esista ancora uno stato palestinese e come la situazione del popolo palestinese rimanga molto seria.

Il 29 novembre è stata dichiarata dall'Onu Giornata Internazionale della solidarietà per il popolo palestinese. Lo scopo di questa Giornata è ricordare il giorno in cui, nel 1947, fu approvata dall'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite la celebre Risoluzione 181, cioè il Piano che prevedeva la creazione di due stati in Medio-Oriente: uno ebraico e uno palestinese. Come sappiamo, non accadde mai e le vicende che la precedettero possono farci capire molto dell'origine di un conflitto ancora in corso. Proviamo a capire meglio.

La Giornata Internazionale della solidarietà per il popolo palestinese fu istituita ufficialmente nel 1977, in ricordo del primo tentativo di definire due stati indipendenti e autonomi in Medio-Oriente. Un tentativo che però fu rifiutato proprio dalla comunità araba perché considerato troppo sbilanciato nei confronti della presenza ebraica.

Lo scopo della Giornata è però quello di ricordare che, purtroppo, ancora non esiste uno stato palestinese, che i territori della Palestina sono tuttora occupati e controllati dal governo israeliano e che il popolo palestinese non ha una vera e propria nazione. Questa situazione ha determinato conseguenze molto gravi per la comunità palestinese, che si è vista espropriare le proprie case e cacciare dai propri territori in più riprese. Un problema che prosegue nell'area della Cisgiordania e che si è tradotto in atti definiti genocidiari dall'Onu durante l'ultimo conflitto nella Striscia di Gaza.

Qualche settimana fa era stata annunciata in modo trionfale la fine della guerra, ma sappiamo che in realtà c'è solo una fragile tregua nella Striscia di Gaza.
Nessuno ne parla più come se fosse una cosa risolta, quando invece continuano a morire bambini ogni giorno!
Per questo credo sia importante ricordarci che esiste un problema non risolto per il quale circa cinquanta anni fa è stata Istituita una giornata Internazionale!

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was established by the UN in 1977 and serves as a reminder that there is still no Palestinian state and that the situation of the Palestinian people remains very serious.

29 November has been declared by the UN as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The purpose of this Day is to commemorate the day in 1947 when the United Nations General Assembly approved the famous Resolution 181, i.e. the Plan that provided for the creation of two states in the Middle East: one Jewish and one Palestinian. As we know, this never happened, and the events that preceded it can help us understand a great deal about the origins of a conflict that is still ongoing. Let's try to understand better.

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was officially established in 1977, in memory of the first attempt to define two independent and autonomous states in the Middle East. However, this attempt was rejected by the Arab community because it was considered too biased towards the Jewish presence.

The purpose of the Day, however, is to remember that, unfortunately, there is still no Palestinian state, that the territories of Palestine are still occupied and controlled by the Israeli government, and that the Palestinian people do not have a real nation. This situation has had very serious consequences for the Palestinians, who have seen their homes expropriated and have been driven from their territories on several occasions. This problem continues in the West Bank and resulted in acts defined as genocidal by the UN during the latest conflict in the Gaza Strip.

A few weeks ago, the end of the war was triumphantly announced, but we know that in reality there is only a fragile truce in the Gaza Strip.
No one talks about it anymore as if it were a resolved issue, when in fact children continue to die every day!
That is why I believe it is important to remember that there is an unresolved problem for which an international day was established about fifty years ago!
