Day 17 of Playing Pentris on SteemRetroGames

Hello Steemians,
Welcome to Day 17 of my Pentris journey on SteemRetroGames! Today’s session was a bit of a mixed bag — some great highs, but also a reminder that no game is ever predictable. Here’s how the day went:

First Play

Score — 1334
My first round of the day started off well. I felt focused and was able to stack cleanly. The blocks aligned just right, and I was able to hit 1334, which is a solid score for me. I wasn’t rushing, and I maintained my rhythm throughout. I was feeling confident, but the second round had me quickly humbled.

Second Play

Score — 2170
This round turned out to be a complete surprise! Despite my previous struggles, I managed to hit 2170, marking my highest score of the day. Everything just clicked. My decisions were faster, my stack was cleaner, and I managed to avoid the usual mistakes that trip me up. It felt like a perfect round, and I was proud of my performance.

Reflection

Even though I had an amazing second play, I feel like I “fell off” at times — I got a bit too comfortable and started rushing towards the end. But that’s what makes Pentris such a great game. It teaches you not just the importance of staying calm but also how to adapt when things aren’t going your way.

Final Thoughts

Today was a reminder that progress isn’t linear. Sometimes you fall off in a game, but if you keep playing, stay focused, and never give up, you can achieve your best performance. Thanks for reading my journey, and stay tuned for Day 18!

This Day 17 update was one of the most exciting ones to read, Wow @ubifav! I like the way in which you were able to be so honest about the good and bad moments of your Pentris quest. The first score of 1334 was already impressive in terms of concentration, whereas the second score of 2170 was impressive. I did experience the excitement of it all falling together and I became reminded of the fact that some of our finest moments come when we are least anticipating them.

The fact that you did not conceal the mistakes or the times you felt that you fell off is something I really liked about it. That sincerity and your gaming experience is relatable. Pentris actually has life lessons to impart upon us, as one should remain calm, adapt, and not to ruin the entire game by one wrong step. The lesson that I obtained personally is that progress is not always smooth and flawless. You have good times and bad times, but all that matters is to continue playing.

ubifav, the experience you have had teaches us that persistence and perseverance always pay. I am already looking forward to what you will write on Day 18. Continue to have fun and continue to develop!
