Russia's Beslan Mudranov won gold judo tournament in the weight category up to 60 kg at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the Russian team brought the first medal of the competition.

In the final fight 30-year-old Russian has won Eldos Smetova from Kazakhstan. The bronze medal went to Japanese Naohise Takato and Dierbeku Urozboevu from Uzbekistan.
Mudranov is a silver medalist of the world championship (2014), two-time winner of the European championships (in 2012 and 2014), owner of the gold of the European Games 2015 in Baku.
The athlete was born in 1986 in the town of Baksan (Kabardino-Balkaria), I started fighting 13 years, then became interested in Sambo. In 2007, he won the silver medal of the world championship Sambo weight category up to 52 kg. In 2008 he moved to judo by winning the championship of Russia.
