Greetings my dear Steemit friends!
Today I am once again participating in another challenge of the Steemit learning season 28. In this amazing journey I learn a lot of different recipes and kebabs making methods. Today we learned how to make Shami kebab at home with very simple and cheap ingredients and spices. These are one of those who provide very good taste and flavour in few and less ingredients and spices. These kebabs are very famous among children and they eat them very happily.
In our homes kebab are mainly serving with biryani and tea and for preparing for family, guests and in parties. In this week prepare a complete recipe of Shami Kebab at home. This recipe is full of protein rich because it has both meat and Dal.
1. Have you ever made Shami Kebab at home?
Yes of course I make it many times Shami Kebabs at home. This is one of those meals which are made easily at home without any difficulty and make it whenever you want to made it and also when you are making it in a very large quantity and stored in the refrigerator because whenever you want to eat, just frying and eat. At first I barely shaped the right shape of the kebabs but with the time I know the perfect consistency of the mixture and now I easily made it.
I always thought that the main part of the Shami Kebab's is the perfect balance and quantity of the meat and Dal. If you select in it in the right quantity then kebab making process is very easy for everyone. In my house my family always wanted Shami kebab with rice and at lunch and when they want it with tea. I make Shami kebab at three to four times in month for fulfilling the demand of it in my house.
2. Step-by-step recipe with pictures
Ingredients — Quantity
Chicken — 400 grams
Chana Dal — 1 cup
Onion — 1 cup
Green Chillies — 3–4 pcs
Coriander — ½ cup
Turmeric — 1 tsp
Chili Powder — 1 tbsp
Cumin — 1 tsp
Coriander Powder — 1 tsp
Black Pepper — ¼ tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste — 2 tbsp
Cinnamon — 2 pcs
Bay Leaves — 2 pcs
White Cardamom — 3 pcs
Black Cardamom — 2 pcs
Cloves — 4 pcs
Eggs — 2 pcs
Mustard Oil — 2 tbsp
Salt — 1 tbsp
Soak Dal
Making it soft using soaking it for 4 hours in water. This makes it full of soft and increase its texture.
Cook Meat & Dal
In the pot I put soaked Dal and chicken, all spices, whole spices, onion and also added mustard oil. Then I added almost two cups of water in the pot and cook it for one hour and put them on flame.
Cooling
When meat and Dal cooks properly and become soft and tender and all the water evaporated then I cool it.
Blending
When the mixture becomes cool, I simply remove the whole spices and then blend the mixture according with equal and balanced texture.
Add Fresh Ingredients
I simply added onion, green chillies and fresh coriander in this kebab mixture.
Binding
After adding two eggs I simply mixed it properly and now mixture is ready to making Shami Kebab's.
Shape Kebabs
I simply making round and simple kebabs and put them in the plate.
Frying
Heated oil in the Pan and first added kebabs on high flame then cooking it in low flame until its colour changing to golden brown. After Shami Kebabs fully cooked I put them on tissue paper from removing extra oil from it.
3. Handwritten name/date decoration
After that's I write my username and date of making it and decorated with onion and tomatoes and using some coriander leaves.
