Morning Under Kilimanjaro ☕🏔️
Morning Under Kilimanjaro ☕🏔️
Last night was short on sleep. I couldn’t rest during the first part of the night, and only after 2 a.m. did I finally drift off. Just before 7 a.m., I woke again.
So I started the day with water — only cold water. A cold shower, clothes on, and then up to the rooftop for breakfast.
With my coffee in hand, I watched Kilimanjaro stand clear this morning, free of clouds. The mountain revealed itself in full, sharp and quiet against the sky — a reminder of where I am and why I’m here. Breakfast with a view like that doesn’t need much else.
When I finished, I grabbed another coffee. That’s the one I’m enjoying right now.
Today will be a busy day. I don’t have a plan yet — just a list of things that need to be figured out. Bus prices, timetables, places to stay. Calculating time, calculating costs, deciding where to go next. My visa in Tanzania is coming to an end, so every decision matters a little more.
Soon I’ll head into town and check everything myself. That also means dealing with the “mzungu price” — the version of reality where everything suddenly costs four times more just because you’re white.
But for now, I’ll finish this coffee.
Then I’ll step back into the streets and let the day unfold.
