KillerPix Contest #26 Entry - Polar Lights over Kirkjufell mountain
This is my entry for the Killerpix Contest #26 hosted by @killerwhale. This week the theme is TRIANGLES like pyramids, cones etc.
For this theme Kirkjufell mountain with its unique pyramid shape is perfect. It is the most photographed mountain of Iceland and was used as film location for Game of Thrones. I was lucky enough to capture a image where the polar lights were right over the top of the mountain...

Awesome Photo, polar lights are such a miracle - Iceland is hot on my list :-)
Thank you. Iceland is great. I visited in March when the polar lights were still visible. I think it will be awesome to film the waterfalls and glaciers with your drone!

Great entry for Triangle! :D
Thank you. Nature built a nice pyramid here...
What a remarkable photo, especially the sky! @eaglest
Thank You :)
Really cool, and really different from most of the other aura photographs out there!
Just a small aurora at the right place and with the right shape ;)

Spectacular photo! Very nice composition. But something is off here, first of all, exif says it was taken with sony A7, iso 5000, 20 sec exposure. Got a feeling that this is composite image put together in PS ;) Even if it is, I like the final result :)
I Don't know how you come to this conclusion. This was a single shot, nothing put together in Photoshop. Also I took this photo with the Nikon D810 like I stated in the data below the photo. The exif also shows exact the same data that I show in my post.
Very strange, probably some glitch in my exif plugin then. Ehh, sorry, I though that maybe you took a separate image for the sky and possibly using two cameras setups. Do not read this wrong, there is no harm ment in this post.
No problem ;)
