The dairy game 5/4/26; A Sunday different from the norm.
Dearest diary,
How do you get through a day that ordinarily have a routine you are used to but on this particular day, things had to be altered because of the health challenge I encountered lately.
My Sundays have always being a service day for me as I would usually wake up in the morning and start preparing to head to church but this Sunday was different and ofcourse alittle odd.
I had to stay back at home and join service online because of the meds that I am on. Well, they are heavy on me that after taking them, I feel literally knocked out and dizzy that I just have to be confined at a space or spend most of the day sleeping. That’s how heavy the effects are.
Well, I woke up to my normal morning routines of prayer and reading scriptures while I joined service online but I didn't stop there. Today had me breezing into the kitchen earlier than normal to make something to eat so I can be able to take my meds early enough.
If I delay in eating, it’s another ball game entirely as everything within my belly would seem to be on protest. A recent development since the ulcer diagnosis. I had to make omelet and use bread to take it along side a cup to tea.
I joined service online for most of the morning until the drug effect kicked in and had me sleeping through the rest of the morning. I had been wanting to do some blending so that I can be able to participate in a learning challenge where I would replicate the making of potato pokara but electricity has been epileptic.
I prayed silently for light to come even if it was for just ten minutes. Just as of nature heard my silent prayers, power supply came. If you see the way I dashed out of my bed like a flash and went straight to blend the rice I wanted to use as rice flour. Immediately I finished blending it, the power supply went.
Ahhhh. I still needed to blend the tomatoes we were supposed to use to make stew for the day. I had to silently wait for another flash of the power supply. It came back again and I had to dash off again to blend the tomatoes before it’s gone. What we have to do for electricity.
After the blending, sis came back from church. We spent some time gisting about service and also used that as an opportunity to take part in the family bonding challenge for the week. He had to practice gratitude.
Prior to this moment, I was feeling a bit down due to the health challenges I’ve been struggling with but talking with sis as she shared some experiences of the accident scenes she witnessed lately and what happened to the victims, I ended up being grateful for my life. The family bonding time was a good one.
After that I headed to the kitchen to prepare the stuffs I wanted to use to participate in the learning challenge. I made potato pokara. It was my first time but it was worth it. I was glad to be a part of the challenge.
I didn’t stop there. I also wanted to engage in another one but the recipe I was preparing didn’t turn out right hence I had to leave it. Moreover I was alredy very tired and have to still make the posts that same night.
I also had a meeting by 9pm same day. I had to discipline myself to be able to make the challenge posts and also meet up with my meetings before the end of the day. Finally the day was a fruitful one. It was my regular Sunday but one that is definitely worth it.
