The diary game 6/4/26; When Life Changed Overnight: Living With Ulcer.

Dear diary,

It’s funny how a simple incident in our lives can turn one’s life style around by 360 degrees. My days has been anything far from what it used to be. Being diagnosed with ulcer and having to go on with medications has been a lot.

How would I know that something as little as that could alter my life pattern. These days I wake up hungry. Maybe not actually hungry but waking up and having to eat as early as possible not because I am hungry but because I am already feeling bitting pangs on my stomach.

And I have to scamper to take the ulcer drugs on an empty stomach first and wait for about thirty minutes to one hour before eating. And then taking the other drugs too alongside. These drugs are heavy and their effects are no joke.

This morning had me having to look for what to eat. The food we preapred had finished the previous night. When the bitting pangs hit me, I had to hurry out of bed to look for an alternative to get food.

I had to hit the road to look for where to buy food as early as past 9am. It was Easter Monday. I had to walk along distance checking out for where to buy food. Most of the road side food vendors didn’t cook that morning. Maybe they were still on holiday.

After effortlessly walking to and fro, I was walking back to the house when I noticed that one of the vendors has finally come out. I am not one to eat road side food regularly but this situation left me no choice. I had only eaten this woman food once and it wasn’t bad so I had to give it another try.

I bought rice and banga stew. I also bought beans which I intended to eat later in the afternoon with the left over bread that I had. I had some plantain left over in the kitchen and an egg. I boiled the egg and also fried the plantain and ate it alongside the rice that I bought from the food vendor.

I had to take my drugs after eating and rested a little. The thing about this drugs is that at about an hour after taking it. I begin to feel intoxicated and then next thing would be to lie down and sleep out the effect. It’s seems that I have been doing alot of sleeping this period.

After resting a while and when the effect of the drugs had waned alittle, I logged into my blog to engage in making some context posts. Towards the evening I had to take my lunch so that I can be able to take my drugs again. After eating, I spent the rest of the evening resting and binging on some movies on Netflix.
