The Diary Game: Going To Church On First Sunday In The Month Of April(05/04/2026)

It’s first Sunday In the month of April and I always want to attend as there’s anointing service and other programs. I dress up as fast as I could and I dress my kids as well. We got there as soon as Sunday school starts. The Sunday school program starts with open prayer from one of the church pastors. After the prayer the church overseer take over, he called prayer point and prayer over the power that sit still in one’s laps every month, he prays over the power that held one back from making move towards success. He sings praises and start the Sunday school. The topic of the Sunday school is overcoming the power of stagnation.

The church overseer explains what stagnation means and how to overcome with prayer. He explains stagnation as state of no growth or no progress. He says it’s one of satans strategies to hold down someone from calling on God, satan makes sure he makes anyone in such state feel frustrated or hopeless and lacking Gods direction. He went further in explaining that believers are not exempted that satan try’s to stop believers from speaking the word of God. He read the scripture, the word of God in Acts chapter 4verse29. He explains how Satan make Gods people face life challenges that makes them stutter or fail to speak the word of God with boldness. He explains how Christian can overcome the power of stagnation by calling out to God. and staying close to believers who are well rooted in scriptures and experience. He read psalm 54 verse4. As the Sunday school is about coming to an end my son started disturbing carry my bag, I forgot to take snacks along .

I had to pet him till the the Sunday school ends. He was busy scattering my bag and playing until he could no longer endure. I have drink in the bag, I gave him to calm him down and he drink it all at once. The Sunday school program as come to an end when I gave my son the drink hoping he’ll manage till the church opens their supermarket but he couldn’t wait. He started crying and making noise . I had to go find a place to get him snacks. At this time the school overseer was talking about contribution towards generator as the one the church as had stopped working. There’s heat in the church, everyone was using hand fan and chargeable hand-fan to blow themselves. I use normal hand fan to blow myself. I think the heat contributed to my baby’s restlessness.

As my baby couldn’t let listen anymore to the overseer, I carried him out to go get him snack. It was a lot taking him out of the church to get him snack. He was carrying my bag out as if we’re already going home. I had to find a way to collect it from him and take him out. We were looking for snack and didn’t get know where to get it , we walked a far distance until we met a Muslim lady in her Muslim attire . She described a place, she pointed out a place for us.

We got there to the house pointed by the Muslim lady we met when looking for the place to get snack unfortunately there’s no one in house. There’s padlock in front of the door. We had to go back to church. On getting to church entrance I met the supermarket attendant going hurriedly to get something, I quickly give him money to get me a big biscuit. I give it to my son to let me rest.

When we entered the church, it was almost time for anointing service. The church usually do anointing service every first Sunday to remove any physical or spiritual blockages, to allow Gods presence in one’s life and bring about blessings through out the month. The church overseer prays over it and also ask the attendees to point hand to it and prophecies whatever you want it to do for you through out the month. The anointing will given to the pastors and church workers first then to the everyone in church both young and old. I receive mine in my hands and pray over it and rub it on my head and other parts of my body.

After the anointing we prayed and headed home.
