A SUCCESSFUL CLASSROOM OBSERVATION

Classroom observation is a systematic process done in every school head and the teacher. It is a process wherein the school head or master teacher will watch and analyze the teaching activities in a classroom. They will be the one go critique the teacher. They will sit at the back from the beginning of the lesson up to the checking of assessment. It aims not to judge the teacher but to assess the strategies used, the student engagement, classroom management and learning outcomes to improve the effectiveness of teaching.

Since I belong to a big school, our school head cant make it if she will be the one to observe all the teachers. Instead, she allows the master teacher in each learning areas to observe the teacher under them. And I had my first observation this school year earlier. To make my lesson went well, I just choose the simple lesson so I can do it and deliver it successfully. Being observed by your school head or even master teacher may cause nervousness and pressure but it can also bring motivation, focus and a desire to perform well.

For you to gain self confidence, you had to master the lesson you chose and must prepare the lesson ahead of time. The earlier the time you prepare your lesson may lead you to a perfect presentation. Nervous? Yes I felt it but thank God I was able to manage it and can say I successfully deliver my plan. I thank God for the confidence He has given and for giving me an understanding master teacher.
