From disappointed to happiness, my week stories #69
Greetings ladies and fellow Steemians.
In this Story69 contest, I want to first appreciate the organizer, @ruthjoe, for the prize received and for her consistency in keeping the community active through this contest. Thank you so much.
This week came with both annoying and interesting moments, and I’ll start with the annoying one.
On Monday, I went to check on my tailor to see if the clothes I gave him were ready. What I ordered versus what I received was a big disappointment. What I asked him to sew was totally different from what he eventually made. I was really sad and disappointed 😞. I told him clearly that I couldn’t take the clothes because they didn’t look good on me at all.
It was supposed to be a senator wear, but honestly, I wasn’t impressed. The most annoying part was that I needed the outfit urgently for our circuit assembly coming up tomorrow. Imagine my frustration.
I went back again yesterday, and he managed to make some adjustments. Although it still wasn’t up to the standard I wanted, I decided to manage it. It hurts when you buy costly materials and someone just messes them up.
I paid him before seeing the finished work because it was my first time patronizing him, and I had seen many well-sewn senator wears displayed outside his shop. I kept wondering if he actually sewed mine or if it was done by his apprentice. I asked him several times, but he never gave a clear answer, he only kept pleading with me.
That experience taught me a great lesson:
- I will never pay a tailor fully without confirming the finished work.
- I will be more careful with who I give my materials to.
Asking him to refund my money and buy back the material felt too harsh because he genuinely begged me, so I decided to let it go. However, one thing is certain I will never sew with him again, and I won’t repeat that mistake.
Now, let me share the happy part of my week 🥰
What truly made me happy was making the kids happy. I did this by giving them beautiful hairstyles for our upcoming assembly tomorrow. I styled my niece’s hair and my daughter’s hair, and the joy on their faces was priceless.
Everyone who saw the hairstyles complimented them, and honestly, I felt so proud of myself for delivering such beautiful artwork. I’ve learned that when you make others happy, you become even happier.
Thank you all for reading my story to the end ❤️
