Stormy weather

 

This week is extreme change in weather. Actually it is started with quite cold weather, it is of course, winter and people get used that it will get colder. But for us, usually the start of December is usually mild. This year, it is already started to be colder end of November.

During last few days when initially we have sunny weather with cold temperature over last 48 hours the weather is completely changes. Almost all over the UK it is raining, in some areas more in others slightly less. In South of England these days it is both cold and raining, my mother was not able to get out to supermarket. When I asked if she has some food at home, luckily she had but she just wanted to have some bread for next days. The bus station is not far away so hopefully if the rain is better than hopefully she will manage this.

When I watched last evening news I heard about the heavy wind and storm Bram that brings a lot of wind together with rain. Those parts of UK on seashore like Wales, Cornwell have big waves and flooding. It was also announced that people should be careful when leaving house and do not do unnecessary trips due to danger of falling trees or destroyed construction sides.

Today when my colleagues arrived, many were late, the reason is that again due to flooding on street many of streets were closed down, especially if there are some bridges and high water level made it unsafe and that was why the car were diverted to longer way over country side.

I am glad that my colleagues all managed to arrive safe. There are some difficulties for parents who have young children because they can not attend the nursery, many of nurseries are also shut just for the time of stormy weather. Of course, children are happy to stay at home.

The temperature today was quickly changing from cold earlier the day to warmer now may be that is also the reason for storm. I only hope that we will not have much water, just worried about our roof, you never know if when it is too heavy rain if the roof will leak, we had it before and definitely I do not want to have it again.
