Tell your story#71: Snowy week

Hello my dear Steemians,
This week is one of the coldest in Europe, because in some area in UK the temperature went down to minus degree over night and slightly above zero during the day.
Yesterday I visited my grandmother and we chatted about of course, winter and cold. Despite of having snow in many area, my grandma told that when she was young like in 60’-70’ every winter was cold there were proper snow everywhere and nobody complained like we do now. She also said that they did everything by foot and they had to cook food, but today we have cars in every family so we travel relatively warm from door to door. Also we have so many deliver services that the food will come to your home. Also, one can buy food and just warm up in microwave without cooking but will have hot food.
When I was travelling to grandma with my car, it was nice to drive while it was snowing, the only bad side of it, the roads are frozen too and actually it is noticeable that it is slippery and some cars got stuck in the snow.
I was lucky because the roads I took were not too snowy, so my trip was save. My grandma was worried when I told that I am taking my car, but she was happy to see me at her porch.
When we later on went for little walk we noticed people who walk their dogs. It is funny that children and animals are almost the same, they are curious about white flakes coming from sky. Of course, the dogs were sniffing the snow and also trying to catch up the snow flakes with their mouth. The also were running all over and I am pretty sure they were tired and happy to be back in warm house.
When we came back home, my grandma made me home made pancakes, they are always very special. I can recognise how the pancakes from granny and from my mother taste. I had then with maple syrup and hot black tea with milk. That was delicious desert before my departure.

Snow is a beautiful gift of nature that God gave to us. your city is indeed blessed and I love the part you said that children and animals play as if the are equals that's really a beautiful thing to behold.
Yes it is real magic when it is white everywhere. Important it is to have warm clothes and heating at home and if you are able just to watch that eveyrhting just from the window.
Wow that's impressive
Thank you for visiting my post and support :)
I feel like the world is changing in many ways. Not just in the way we do things but the weather as well. Reading about your grandma's experience with the snow in the 60s and how it's less "proper" now makes me realise that our world is actually undergoing a lot of changes.
In my place, for instance, we didn't have a single harmattan throughout December, even till this moment. It rained all through even on the 25th. That's the first time this is happening in all my life.
For your grandma to notice a slight decline in how chill the weather feel reveals just how much life evolves over time.
Slowly it is noticeable the whole of nature, I can imagine how it is when it is raining all the time. I wonder how it will be next couple of years if it is going to persist. I believe I also will be telling my children that it as eveyrhting different now in compare to later.
Sure.
And they might be wondering what you mean.😄
