Heights Are Part of a Landscape Photographer's Job
Dún Bhaloir (Balor's Fort) is an iron-age promontory fort on the rugged eastern end of Tory Island, several miles off the coast of Donegal. I took this photograph at sunset while standing over a 100-metre drop. The last rays of the sun bathed the cliffs with a warm glow. The height of my perch bathed me in a warm glow of "don't-put-a-foot-wrong-now-Peter". Actually, I was quite safe, but you have to admit the sense of height adds drama to this image.
