You Can Be Normal
When you fit into a box, fit properly. If it's what you feel comfortable in, secure the seat well. Customize it, even. There's totally nothing wrong with being typical. I'm sure this generation will come to terms with it. I mean, look at all these live-and-let-live people.
Be a "girly girl" If you feel like it on Monday. Wear pink on pink on Tuesday. Dress your bed with teddies. Build your muscles. And do not be ashamed to warn your friends to not try "snatching" your spouse.
It's gradually dawning on me that while it might seem we're crawling out of boxes that have been built over the years, defying stereotypes, rebelling against silly traditions, we're also - almost unknowingly - creating other boxes for ourselves which may be even smaller and quicker to suffocate us. We now say abnormal is the new cool then sit back to judge the "basic" people even though we also realise that being abnormal isn't that interesting either.
We give meanings to things and hope our definitions are now the generally acceptable ones or nothing can be.
I hope we soon come to terms with the reality that people in this world have had diverse points of view from the onset so we can indeed live and let others live. And no, this is not a call to remain knuckle-draggers, the difference must be known.
