Hi, my friends.

  • Mogilev was often the place where the most important state issues were resolved. And just to the arrival of the crowned personage - Catherine II, an entrance arch (gate) was built here, which later became the Memorial Arch. In the 1930s, a portal was laid and bas-reliefs of Lenin and Stalin were engraved on both sides. And almost 15 years later, a new restoration awaited her. In connection with the dethronement of the personality cult of Stalin in 1964, his bas-relief was replaced with a sickle and hammer. Also, memorial plaques with the Red Army units listed in the Great Patriotic War and awarded with the Order of the Red Banner were attached to the wall covering the portal. And then the arch was renamed Memorial.
