Faith against paganism: Is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him. Ephesians 4:20-21

The Book of Acts recounts that the apostle Paul founded the Church of Ephesus at the beginning of his third missionary journey and preached there for three months about the Kingdom of God; it is very likely that the letter, rather than being addressed to this important Christian community, is a letter addressed to several churches in the region. And the apostle Paul, among other things, in his epistle to the Ephesians, wrote about the importance of the new life in Christ, a life that began with the grace of baptism in the name of Jesus.
And for the Apostle Paul, this new life could only be based on the grace of love, the love projected onto all of God's work, the spiritual love also called in greek language Agape, and he expressed this spiritual truth with these wise words in his epistle: "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love" Ephesians 4:2.
And following Paul's theological thought, this life has a very clear meaning, because Christian spirituality is not related to the search for happiness, which is a misleading and selfish desire, but to something more transcendent, the likeness and the conformity with Jesus Christ. This is why Paul continued in his spiritual thinking and also expressed these words in his epistle: "Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" Ephesians 4:13.
Paganism, with its heresies, was a constant threat to the first Christians and the early Church, because according to the faith only Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Paul was clear in his spiritual message, the wisdom of the world is insufficient to lead Christians to salvation and eternal life. That is why Paul warned that the pagans, with their love of worldly things, were not an example to follow with these words: "However, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus" Ephesians 4:20-21.
The apostle Paul concluded his spiritual exhortation to the Christians of Ephesus by advising them to put on the armor of God to overcome the temptations of the world and the lifestyle of those who reject Jesus and live according to the dictates of the flesh.
