Codependency thoughts for the day! Let it be as John Lennon would say! And Lets be the Yin to my Yang!
I ran across this poem. I am not sure who wrote it but is an excellent description of the process of letting go of codependency behavior!
Being Different People
When I feel my own
feelings and let you feel yours,
It does not necessarily mean that we will not get along.
You are not here to satisfy my needs.
What I did not get is not up to you to supply.
Your job is not to finish up my insides
Or to be hostage to the deficits in my past.
What you give me you give
Because at some deep level
Our needs speak to one another.
We call out in the silence
Of our unfinished selves,
To grow through on another's gifts and desires.
We cannot serve each other's
Inner movement,
if we allow the unconscious match between us to do its work!

Very beautiful poem.
I read a piece somewhere that a relationship isn’t 100% i.e two people bringing in 50% each.
It’s 200% rather with each person bringing in their complete 100%.
Their individual thoughts, feelings, ideas etc.
I am you and you are you, but we still get along beautifully and are so good together.

Thank you yang...But what if I wanted to be Yang then you have to be Ying! Ha
The way codependency was explained to me on a psychology level is with two hula hoops...You don't want both hula hoops merged together...The ideal relationship is with a part of the hula hoops over lapping the other. This way when you try to stand in the hula hoops you have one foot in your own hula hoop and one foot where both ying and yang have a foot in together! Thanks YANG! (:

You are very correct Afril! We all know Harmony in relationships isn't sustainable 100% of the time but as long as you find a way back to Harmony. Relationships in marriage and in friendship is a beautiful dance!

You could romanticize it Chebacca! You know Chewie had a big heart. Codependency is just naming someones conditioning not blaming. Two people may be brought together for growth...You know there are two flames to every story or should I say Twin Flames...
I like the story of Twin Flames:A Twin Flame however is when that single cut, or that single soul begins getting bigger and bigger to the point where it needs to be cut itself into two different energies.
Once these two Twin Flame energies finally merge again, no matter how many cycles of reincarnation it takes, the cloth gets bigger and eventually forms new souls.
Think of it like a seed, spreading and creating more flowers as it germinates.
This energetic split does not happen to everyone. It only happens to those who have reached a certain frequency or level of consciousness.
In each “twin” there is a magnet that sort of attracts the two of you together (like attracts like), and you can meet at any time, at any stage of your life journey.
