365 Days That Count - Day 42 - Getting to know the Steemit community.

in #life7 years ago

I was introduced to this platform last October and as they say, everything happens for a reason.

I had never heard of blockchain or BTC let alone Steemit and yet at exactly the right time, when I desperately needed an avenue of expression I found one. The fact that this new found avenue had the potential to earn me some money was an added and greatly appreciated bonus.

Since then not only have I become slightly addicted to it but I have been introduced to some amazing people.

I said in my post yesterday that whenever I’ve put myself out of my comfort zone recently I’ve been rewarded and the same can be said for every time I’ve clicked post.

My style of writing is honest and personal and there's always a little bit of doubt or insecurity over how it will be received. Yet all I've experience thus far has been guidance and support, making it easier and easier to put myself out there and be vulnerable.

I have yet to go through my home page without finding inspiration, entertainment or thought provoking material of all kinds.

I'm made to think, question, empathise and laugh out loud every day. It is most definitely the people on this platform that have made the journey so enjoyable thus far.

A few weeks ago having locked myself out of my account I desperately reached out for advice and in the process was introduced to @fyrstikken who helped me figure out what I’d done and eventually get back in.

He invited me to join a chat group and today I finally did.

It's slightly nerve-wracking speaking to a bunch of people you’ve never seen - especially when they’re all men - but they were interesting, welcoming and knowledgable and I realised how much I could learn from them on all topics blockchain and crypto currency.
I felt a bit like I’d just snuck into a class I hadn't qualified for :)

It hit me that unless I had locked myself out and had all the issues I did getting back in I would never have been chatting to them.

It’s those moments when even the not so good things fit into place that make me feel the most at ease. It reaffirms that I'm on the right path, giving me confidence to carry on walking into the unknown.

Steemit really is a community and it's one that I'm so happy to be a part of. I can't wait for more people to discover this happy place.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all.

Love,

Daisy xx

I'm on steemit from only 3 weeks and I love this community! I can read nice posts, meet people from all over the world and earn something if I write quality contents. I'm happy to be here ^_^
