I think that the neighborhood crawls are pretty awesome.

The idea is simple, you find a few friends that live fairly close to one another. You plot a map from one person's house to another -- The host at each stop prepares a particular drink and snack at their place; could be anything from hot chocolate to beers to old fashions. You all start at one home, then everyone moves as a group to the next home, and so on until you reach the end. I think we did about 45 minutes at each home.
