Inspiration of the week

One can't ignore the price of BTC right now, but that leave a sad thought for many people who have been trading BTC over the past few years. So here is the question, how do you deal with the regret of not holding on?

Here is my little story:

Today I woke up and looked at the price. I thought I was dreaming, after taking a shower I knew I was not dreaming as the price shot up an extra R1000 (about $75). I then went into my luno account and had a look at all the previous transfers and sales I had done. The sad part was that I was selling BTC at about R9000 ( about $700) per BTC and I had transacted 12 BTC all together and gotten just over R100 000 for it.

If I never took that through my account I could of had over R1 000 000, it is enough of a difference to want to shoot yourself right? So now where do I find peace with myself for what has happened.

Some people say that you never knew therefore you should not worry or have regrets about it. But this simply is not enough to get rid of the feeling of regret.

After much thought I came to ask myself what was that money spent one? This is where I found my peace, it was a great need at that time to use that money and it was not wasted on anything unimportant. Knowing that the money was used wisely has given me peace.

Hope that everyone will find a way to deal with this kind of regret.

As I've heard quoted..."look back but don't stare"...the regrets never fully go away...but we learn to live in our nows...

I am at a stage in life where I recognize how much "easier" life would be today if I had just invested more wisely over the years...specifically...the stock market...but I've come to believe that if a higher purpose exists...then the person I am is the person I was meant to be...the turns I took or didn't take got me to this point and will continue to carry me forward...its the journey of me...

May you find peace in being the unique special person you are..."look back but don't stare"

Hi @dragonslayer109,

I can relate exceptionally well to this post. I am also from South Africa and I have been using luno for about 5 years now. Not so long ago I had questioned this very thing as I have had about 12 btc through my luno account over the last few years. I also at one point had well over 2000 steem. At this point I have just under 60 steem left and 0.01 btc in my luno account. I have no regrets thou because the money was used to immigrate to the UK so I could have a better future for my family and especially my son.

In all I just wish I had the incite to hold my coins and stay put, this is because after it took me four years of struggling to get were I am today, I have realized I could have held out and if I simply waited holding my coins I would have ended up getting here around the same time only costing me around 3 btc.

I haven't gone through that regret , no BTC in my possession but I would really regret it seeing now a whole new profit I could have made if I hold on , but I totally agree with ur reasonings as long as it was not spend in waste there's no reason to hold on to that regret maybe another chance to succeed will come again :-)

I am sure another chance will come along, life is full of opportunities

I am right there with you. I heard about bitcoin early this year but chose the stock market instead. That weighs on me but it's never too late to get in the game. I am utterly optimistic about bitcoins now and will do everything to get my share of the pie. May bitcoin continue to go up. Thanks for the post. Totally relatable.

Glad you enjoyed it, sorry for the stock market investment.

this blog contains many information

It is indeed painful - but also a learning curve I guess.
I still think that something is up with Luno being higher than what I would think it should be...

As it is the only large market for Rand to BTC trade the price is always a lot higher than it should be.

i know something new thanks...
