The dumbest, stupidest thing I have ever managed to do

Can there be any worse symbolism than flushing your wedding ring down the toilet?

                        〰️➰〰️

So, in a life punctuated only occasionally by episodes of great stupidity, this is the very highlight.

Or rather, the lowlight.

Or rather, it is easily the dumbest, stupidest thing I have ever managed to do.

And with the benefit of hindsight, I can see that my belief at the time that flushing my wedding ring down the toilet was the flawed outcome of an act of love and generosity - was just as dumb and was never going to fly.

How could it?

How could I have been naive enough to believe (well, maybe hope) it would ever be okay?

                                  〰️➰〰️

So I was cleaning the bathroom.

So I was doing it unasked.

So, yeah, cleaning the house.

Big deal.

But why didn't I just remove my wedding ring? It was always a little loose. It sometimes slipped off if things got slippery.

So I manage to loose it in the toilet. And then flush the toilet. And only realise then that I had done so.

Of course I stuck my hand down the loo. Yep a real hero.

Fark.

Let this be a warning, guys.

Of course my wife and I bought a new one.

But it's a new one.

I look at the wedding photos: the beach, the frangipanis, my beautiful wife.

And I look at my wedding ring and it's not the same one.

Bummer.

Sort:

Aww..bummer mate. I would hate to loose mine :(

Cheers. Yep... sux.

its sad but somehow funny story. My bad, for laughing at your stories. I did similar stupid thing before. I was angry at first, then sad because I lost something very valuable in stupid way, but at the end I laugh at my stupidity.

I'm glad you laughed. It is so stupid it's funny.

@michellethorne Thank you , it's so nice to hear about your own travels to Turkey, with so many mutual experiences, it's a sign that Turkey truly is a mecca for travellers and accessible to all people!

As you said, I do love the mix of European and Asian culture, and it's also the reason why I decided to stay near the old town next to the Hagia Sophia, I seem to remember however that it is located on the West side of the Bosphorous and therefore is the European side and not Asian side. Do correct me if i'm wrong though!

As always I have time to visit the blogs of my favourite people, you being one of them

Really this I should the one of hot post fabulous story @abutaleb365

It's cringy, yes it is.
But as you both grow older, you will just laugh at the memory.
What more is important is the love and care that you have for each other, that no other thing can ever replace. :)

Thanks yukimaru.

Always a pleasure :)
