BIBLE TEXT : Acts 7:54-60

54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

SUB HEADING: WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT" TEMPERAMENT"

INTRODUCTION: Remember that in our last lesson we said that the Holy spirit gives us comfort.
Today we shall be look @ Temperament.

TEMPERAMENT>>>> To be temperament means to have self-control.
Temperance enables you to remain cool, calm
and collected in the midst of dire situations and this is the manifestation of the holy spirit.

Through the manifestation of work of the holy spirit - temperance, you will save yourself the pain of hasty and rash
pronouncements that you will later regret.

Temperance will restrain you from overreacting in situations that could make you lose your integrity. It takes the restraint of the Holy Spirit to turn the other cheek to those who despitefully use you (Luke 6:29).

To better understand temperance, just picture Stephen in excruciating pain and about to die, praying for God’s mercy on those who stoned him to death.

This is the hallmark of a life full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 7:55). The Lord Jesus Christ also manifested this nature on the cross of Calvary (Luke 23:34).

When He was arrested and tried, it was temperance that enabled Him to restrain Himself from putting up a defence.

CONCLUSION:HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US TO CONTROL OUR TEMPER. OR EN
