It's Survival of the Fittest Out There...
So, the wife is leaving for another business trip abroad soon. And that can only mean one thing. Food Panic! You see, I have been spoilt. Without her exceptional cooking at hand, I'm like a lost puppy. Venturing out in the lonely streets of London, searching for food wherever I can find any. Usually, the local chippie or something a little more upmarket, like MacDonalds.
But there is hope on the horizon. Sweetheart that she is, my wife got me this incredibly handy cookbook. It's aptly titled "The No Time To Cook Cook" by Laura Herring. Written for, you know, for those of us who need to "start from the basics". Though I think she did it more for her own benefit than mine. After all, how is she expected to cope on that business trip whilst being worried sick about me all the time. Hence everyone's a winner.
I thought I'd peruse through it's pages this afternoon and I gotta say, I should be able to fix myself something up. Maybe even get a bit creative and whip up an Indian or Chinese cuisine even. But again, let's not push the boat out too far, so early on. Noe, I am well aware that this problem affects at least 1 in 4 men, there this is my personal recommendation to you, instead of scouring the trenches for some grub, knee deep in hunger and famine. the step-by-step instructions are really easy to follow and even the most neanderthalic amongst us, should be able to prepare something from the pages of this book.
So, yeah! Thanks, wife! You are indeed my blessing! Thank you for understanding! :)
Nothing is ever going to taste like your wife or your mums food. But its always good to sometimes know how to fix something up for yourself or to impress sometimes. ;)
Lol, so true. :)
@ezzy hehehe... wife hand made food used to be so much tasty.. no one can replace that taste
Defo! Agree 100%! :)
@ezzy when is your wife returning back? How many days you have to suffer? Hehehe
Hahahahaha stuffs like this can only make you appreciate your wife the more. Well what my mum does is, she tries to make lots of assorted dishes before she leave so dad wouldn't have to go out to look for food. All he needs do is put them in the microwave and warm till she comes back.
I wish you wife a successful business trip.
Thanks, buddy. Lol, where would we be with these amazing women in our lives! :)
When she is back, you can cook together like a pro. I also learned to cook by a cookbook or cooking programs on TV.
Man, she'd be over the moon with that result, lol! :)
Just do like i do... men's best friend the cellphone!! Order some pizza sit back and relax, when the wife comes home she will spend days "exercising" those extra calories out of you if you know what i mean 😉 😉 😉
Lol, exactly. There are many chefs out there willing to turn in a good meal for us. :)
Why have the work of cooking something if we can delegate that work to someone else xD and the food turns out better than most of the food we are able to do... the cheese from pizza melting inside the mouth... hmmmm
Can't take anymore of that talk, mate. I'm on the "hotline" right this minute!!! :))
Hehe @ ezzy what good when the wife consented and pampered right? there is also another solution for your wife to leave you some prepared meals and you just have to heat them
She did that one time when leaving for a previous business trip. Bless her... :)
Hahah, what an incredible gift by your wife man 😅 i think this book make you master chef of your kitchen 😂 don't forget to share your cooked recipes here with me and others 😄 all the best.
Lol! I'll be looking out for my Steemian brothers, without a doubt. :)
Awwwwww! she is so amazing! Time to learn how to cook 😜
