Garut merupakan salahsatu sentra penghasil tembakau di Jawa Barat. Dan para petani tembakau di Jawa Barat punya inovasi dalam mengolahnya. Mereka tidak sepenuhnya tergantung pada pabrik rokok. Lantaran punya keterampilan mengolahnya menjadi tembakau mole.
Tembakau mole sendiri merupakan olahan hasil tembakau siap pakai yang disukai banyak penikmat tembakau. Prosesnya, setelah dipetik, tembakau dirajang halus, kemudian dijemur. Hasilnya menjadi tembakau mole yang berwarna coklat muda dengan aroma yang khas.
