Listening to Shame with Brene BrownsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #life7 years ago

Brene Brown asserts that courage comes from vulnerability- she should know, she has studied shame, vulnerability and courage for several years. She says that vulnerability is essential to whole - hearted living and that it is the birth place of courage.

How often have you wished you could have been braver? And what does bravery mean to you?

Bravery is letting others truly see us, warts and all- which is the exact opposite of Facebook, where often only the glittery side of life is shown...

My favourite bit in this film is where she says "Shame drives 2 big tapes - Never Good Enough, and Who DO You Think You Are?"

These two belief systems or barriers to entry to bravery are well known by most feeling humans....and it is what we do with them that demonstrates who we are.

If you have not encountered Brene Brown, I highly recommend watching some of her videos or reading some of her books. She shines a wonderful light on our dark fears.

If you need some help with shame, vulnerability or fear, anger, or grief, I may be able to help. Take a look here-
