Coming Out of the Lockdown witout 2 Jobs but with Hope for the Future
The past two weeks have been extremely busy and difficult for me and, I can only imagine, for most people who live in countries that have slowly started to emerge from the lockdown. As people start to go back to work (those who still have one), we are forced to get used to a new reality, one in which wearing a mask in public places is compulsory and failing to do so can result in a fine (at least in my country).
People are getting used to all sorts of new things know; keeping social diatance, not being allowes to leave the city without a valid reason, gettinf youe temperature checkes each time you enter the workplace etc.
Even for freelancers like me things have changed although many of us were already used to working remotely. Many jobs have been whipped out by the pandemic, uncluding two of my collaborations which were serving the travel industry.
Those who have also lost their job or a partnerrship during this period know how distressing it is to start looking for new projects now when moat companiea cut down expenses as much as they can in order to still be able to maintain their employees.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is also caused by the pandemic. There is hope for more remote jobs to appear now in many industries as employers realized that it is possible to work in a 100% virtual environment and save valuable resources.
As a freelance writer and translator, I am always on the lookout for new jobs and, dueing the past 2 weeks I've seen many new poatings. This gives me hope that our economy will gradually start to regenerate and that we are not approaching an economic collapse as some say.
If you are in the same boat with me and currently looking for new job opportunities, I wish you good luck. Arm yourself with patience and optimism and be consistent in your search!
