The Venue For Our Wedding (Rustic Pines) -- Pictures and Ideas

in #life8 years ago

Yesterday, me, my dad @pipertomcat , my fiancee @spiper20 and some of our family went to visit the venue that me and Skylar will be getting married at. We are just under a year from our wedding date (September 23, 2017) so we wanted to see what it looks like this time of year. We went at 5 o'clock because that is what time we plan for our wedding to be. I took a bunch of pictures to show you guys what our venue looks like and I wanted to explain our ideas and see what you all think! We have already paid for the venue and we will have it Friday - Sunday.

Here is the main area of the place. There is an awesome little waterfall that runs into the lake, right beside a small bridge. Our plan is to have the actual ceremony on the bridge. The big grass area that you see to the left of the bridge is where everyone will be seated. We will line all the chairs up on that side and the small area on the right of the bridge will be for immediate family to sit at.

Skylar was worried we wouldn't fit on the bridge because she has 7 bridesmaids and I have 7 groomsmen. That's her in the middle and we lined up 7 people to make sure that it would be a good fit. There is just enough room for there to be 7 on either side. Imagine how great the pictures of the ceremony will be with the lake in the background like that!

This is the little creek that has the waterfall at the end of it. It goes all the way up to the top of the hill. I think this will make for some great pictures after the ceremony.

There are beautiful, antique items all around the venue that make for amazing scenery.

This is the main cabin that the bride will get dressed in and we will also spend the night in it after the wedding. The family that built the venue moved these old cabins from all over to this spot specifically to be a venue! There is no telling how much money has went into this place.

This will be an open bar at the wedding. Two of my good friends are licensed bartenders and have agreed to bar tend the entire event for me!

We will have our first dance on this beautiful stone dance floor.

There is even a kitchen to prepare all of the food!

The venue also supplies a decent amount of tables and there are also lights in the trees that will be gorgeous once the sun sets.

My and Skylar standing in the spot we will get married in!

We are so excited for our big day to get here. We still have a ton of planning to do, but at least we have the venue for sure and we already have a ton of ideas to do at this place. Do you guys like the ideas so far? Please let me know! If you want to look into the venue for yourself, please visit https://www.facebook.com/Rusticpinesvenue/

I love the bridge idea, but I would do it slightly differently. Imagine, the wedding officiant is standing in the middle of the bridge.
The procession starts with you walking with your parents. They stop at the beginning of the bridge on your side. They tell you that they love you and go take their seats. You walk to the centre of the bridge, as a man ready to receive his bride. The rest of the bridal party comes and they wait on either respective sides of the bridge, but just before the bridge starts. Skylar's parents walk her to the base of her side of the bridge. They tell her that they love her and go and take their seats. Skylar joins you on the bridge to receive her groom . Then, your Best Man and Maid of Honour join the 3 of you. You'll have to get off the bridge to sign the wedding registry documents with your Best Man and Maid of Honour who will also need to sign as your witnesses. It will be easier to get 5 people off the bridge rather than 17. During the signing, you could have someone singing. It would also be nice to float some kind of floral arrangements down the creek and under the bridge to remember any grandparents or special people who may have already passed away and can't be present in body during your special day. :)

Great thinking!

It looks like a nice spot. Just watch out for a pack of wild Hogzillas that live in the woods! I have seen pictures online and these beast live in the heart of Georgia!

hahahaha! 50% of my family are hunters so hopefully we will be ok! My cousin, Keven, hunts hogs on the weekends and catches them. His wife took this picture of him and a hog he caught!

This is beautiful! Where is this?

It is in Middle Georgia in a small town called Milan.

It's beautiful! I am going to have a find a venue at some point here... the gf is getting restless ;)

When I see that lake, all I can think about is I wonder how big the bass are in there... ha

Thank you! Man they had a fish feeder out there that went off while we were standing there and it looked like pirañas! I will definetely be taking my fishing pole haha.

Thanks bro! It's a bit away but we are so excited for it!

I totally remember that feeling!

How long have you been married?

Is that a trick question? Haha
Ummmm....4 years this coming February.

That's awesome man!

Thanks man! It's been an incredible journey!

Looks awesome man, congrats!

Thanks @dexter-k! We are so excited for this day to arrive!!

Totally dude, being married is really great. My wife and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary this year, it's crazy how the time flies :)

Upvoted and reblogged, jesus told me to do it.
Love the fact that 50% of your family are hunters, I can relate to that.
You are growing on me at supraluminal speed Jay, good work.

That means a lot @walden thank you! Do you hunt?

yes, I hunt, I love hunting, it allows me to connect with my ancestors and with the nature of life, guns are good, I love them but to be honest what i like the most is hunting with a knife,
I adore the feeling of warm blood running through my hand

I have never hunted much myself but I do like to go fishing a lot.

I suggest you try it then, go chasing something with a knife and kill it, dont make it suffer, make it as quick as possible, then eat it. Its a religious experience.
take a handgun with you just in case, i dont want you getting hurt.

Does fishing count? I have caught a bass, cleaned it myself, cooked it and then ate it.

what a spectacular place to tie the knot - it beautiful. You should get some beautiful photo's. I bet it will look beautiful at night with fairy lights amongst the trees. Great choice

Thank you! Yes I have to find a photographer soon.

Stunning. You're setting yourselves up for a beautiful beginning.

Thanks beanz !

stay out of this, no legs, and put some lights in your room when you shoot the vids, genius

"Does fishing count? I have caught a bass, cleaned it myself, cooked it and then ate it."
Yes you caught a nice bass, if you are referring to the kind of bass I think you are referring to :)

If those photos were taken at the time you'll be getting married, I notice the shadows are very long. I'd consider taking some photos earlier in the day as well, in case they come out too dark afterwards. But it's a beautiful spot, and I'm sure your day will be gorgeous. Congratulations.
