Life is a journey.There is surely a starting point and a destination.It begins with birth and ends with death.Many of us really sat down to ponder on this metaphoric statement.Yes life is a journey.

When set off in a journey, the distance to our destination reduces each minute and second.As we journey ahead our long anticipated destination becomes shorter and shorter.When the vehicle arrives, all travellers move to different places to carry out the purposes for their travel.It rather sad tha we have not related the very life we enjoy each day to such a scenario.

As we are born,the journey starts.As we get to our date of birth each year , we get closer to death.Why then do we say God has added another year to my age or years.Is it not ironic.As we celebrate our birthdays with joy and merriment, we should realise that our death dates are fast approaching. So l think a year has been deducted from your years but not addition as we so suppose.It will be better we reframe this very statement during birthdays and say that my years on earth has been reduced by one.

Though we celebrate on such occasions, it will sound a period of examining oneself rather than a period of drinking ,shouting and doing the unacceptable.
As people alight on the way before the vehicle finally stops at its destination,so will some leave the earth earlier than others.Your journey may be short ,mine may be long.We therefore need to be more serious as the years go by.Since we are speedily reaching our destination.
Birthdays are hence a minus but not a plus.Think about it.
