Childhood vision is a possibility; however a dream

As a child I grew up with many dreams and aspirations. Issues regarding marriage, work and general lifestyle were loaded inside me like a pool of water in the sea. The cars I will buy, the most beautiful lady I will marry, the mansion in which I will stay, the kind of work I would do, etc were so bright, appealing and appetizing. As it was to me, so is it to each and everyone. I must be quick to say that these imagery are dreams that can also be actualize if one passes through the different transitions of life with zeal, carefulness, discipline, diligence and Godly fear and guidance. These optimistic goals in mind can be a possibility or otherwise.

What were your dreams when you were a child? Have you reached, near reach or far away from achieving it. Whichever stage we are in relation to these dreams and our aspirations depends on the choices we make in life. The choice of friends you make as you climb the ladder of life matters. Some friends are dream actualizers, others are dreams or vision killers. The peers we move with at the upper primary, junior high school, senior high school, tertiary, all contribute to our success or failure in life. Many people leave home so discipline and God fearing for school. They return home with very deviant behaviours where rots can mainly be attributed to friendship.

If your personal values and those of your friends differ, it is a threat to your future. You influence your friends or the other way round happens. “Can two walk together unless they agree?” many people have grown up to realized that their dreams have remained dreams because of the sort of friends the moved with. Sadly enough, 70% of these friends we make become passive part of our lives as we climb higher and higher in life. Some you will only hear from them but never in your life will you meet them again.

Why then do you kill your dreams because of friends? If a friend will distort your dreams, do him or her away. A true friend is a friend in need, gives Godly counsel, talks of a brighter future, is not wasteful, avoids fornication and sexual immorality and alcoholism, etc. You can actualize your childhood dreams. Beware of the choice of friends you make today; for they will contribute to your destination tomorrow.
