Yes, I was spanked many times. I don't remember one I didn't deserve. I am grateful for them. They molded my character, and taught me right from wrong. I question whether your story qualifies as spanking though, more like abuse. 24 lashes, hanging mid-air seems excessive to me.
Yes spanking has its role to play in a child's upbringing but that was definitely too much as a growing.
