Drone rescues swimmers in Australia in world first
Success is considered a world premiere.
The authorities in Lennox Head, Australia, broadcast a disturbing clip that demonstrates the importance of drones.
Drona Little Ripper, designed to rescue swimmers in distress, filmed a dramatic operation.
Two young men were caught by the currents off the ocean and were about to drown.
Luckily, they were noticed, and in just 70 seconds the rescue drones reached them. He threw an inflatable raft, which the two swimmers caught and managed to stay on the surface of the water, then swimming back to shore.
Normally, a lifeguard would have needed about 6 minutes to save the swimmer.
Australian authorities have invested 430,000 dollars in this pilot drone rescue project, which is currently being tested in the northern coast.
Dwarfs of this kind can also be used to observe the proximity of sharks to populated beaches, but also to help with research, and can easily supervise large areas over the oceans.
I never thought of this use for drones! We use them in real estate all the time, but this is a real life safer. haha

Damn drones they are useful for everything, yesterday i was out of toilet paper guess what? My drone grabbed some for me, i think drones will be the new best friend of humans, dogs will be replaced by 2019, and we will have drones as pets, i'm going to name my drone Mr.Screw.
P.s - ofc im joking, thank god that drone was there to help those ppl, never thought about using drones like this, great way to use them, maybe they can start being used in forest fires, my country just had a major crises with forest fires.
